Looking at auctions on Carhuna (cars that are generally very good ones) there are a couple of cars that have failed to reach reserve and ended £20~£25k or so under what those same cars are advertised for (and have been for months). So while a great many cars are SOR I guess there is dealer owned stock out there too.

The dealer might also do a lot of business from servicing Ferraris etc so they don't mind sitting on stock for months. I think 3 or 4 of the cars for sale in Autofficina have been there for half a year.
