I'm 6'3 and have to drive my 355 in race boots (or just socks) and have a 100mm steering wheel spacer. I also have the Hill HTP pedal which makes heel and toe much easier when not wearing shoes.

Interested in the steering wheel spacer as that is what was causing me issues trying to fit in the car - my hip to knee is where a lot of my height is, which is a pain.

Regarding comments on the 360s - I tried one before buying my California and also found the interior space tight. As much as I tried to make it work (manual car) even the salesman said this wouldn’t be a car for me. Maybe an F1 would have been a better option but I’m more interested in a 355 as was a poster car for me.

Had mine nearly 8 years now, done 42k ish.

In that time the main faults

Coils died
Perished spark plug wires (cracks)
HVAC ecu died
Pax seat pot threw a wobbler (8 hrs labour!)
Alternator died shortly followed by the battery not holding charge (usual!)
Oil hoses leaking (expensive!)
F1 pump died
F1 pump block leaking
F1 accumulator perished
Something broke in the cigarette lighter socket cant remember what

Total to repair all that, at a guess, £4k ish.

In terms of servicing
I have an oil service done each year.
I have had 1 cam belt change done at year 4 along with spark plugs. Next one due in 2 months again with spark plugs.

Total around £7000 ish.

So around £11k or £1600 a year over 7 years.

I dont do a lot of miles tbh. Obviously its due another belt change so thats a few grand probably once all said and done with what ever else comes up. sSo thtat might lift the average.

Current issues
Starter motor intermittent no start (have plunger service kit will be DIYing soon)
Pax seat pot not happy again. Getting up the courage to DIY... not paying 8 hours labour again
Suspension actuator (not sure which one) is intermittently putting the suspension warning light on.
3rd brake light has a bulb out

My oil hoses are all seeping. Just need to get around to draining it, undoing them all and taking them to Pirtek...
Anyone done this recently?

Yep.

I dont use Pirtek but I use a large local place done dozens of jobs for me over the years normally same / next day.

Dropped the hoses in on a Friday. They said would be done for Monday.

Monday came and went. Tuesday called them. Have you got anywhere.... erm will be done tomorrow.

This post is going like a Craig David song... so cut to the point, it was Friday before they were ready.

They had real difficulties with the fittings. In the end they had to re-do one of them and weld another which involved quite a bit of machining. They also struggled to source the correct springs.

I have known the owner 20+ years so I know its no BS when he says it wasnt an easy job.

Also, to make matters worse, when it came to refitting the mechanic said he really did struggle to get the pipes back on with the engine in as the new spring just wanted to stay straight. I think it was the front one.

So, go in with a big time frame and maybe even do it around cam belt to be belt and braces. That said you might have no issues!!
