I've seen the same engine control error on my previous 612. Dealer said it was to do with the air flow in the manifolds. The parameters are set very tight and it just takes a speck of dirt on the sensor to throw up the message.

I bought an 10 quid OBD unit to clear the error whenever it comes up.
Have sorted several faults with an OBD. Top piece of kit for little cash
Can you elaborate on which £10 OBD unit works on Ferraris? Do you know if they will work on 456M? Sounds interesting!

Hi matey, don't loose faith just yet.... I got a series of exhaust system lights when I first got mine, and like you worried about starting the damn thing.... Turns out I was not doing the fuel cap tight enough, so evap pressure sensor would flip.... As someone says, sensors very sensitive on these cars.... Obd code reader is well worth it, check the code, if a simple pressure thing, reset it...

I saw you in Angel on Saturday, looking very nice! I was in a silver grey M3 but don't think you saw me smile

I also saw an F40 later that day... lucky day for me!

Cool, my first pistonhead spot! Dont think I saw you, was approaching my destination on unfamiliar roads so was concentrating like hell and the speed bumps on the residential streets around Angel/Islington were a nightmare.

Thanks for all the advice and comments, she seems to be behaving herself now, just cant stop taking her out, putting some serious miles on the car unfortunately, 2400 miles in just over 3 months!

Unfortunately?!! Don't be daft! You're getting much better value for money than the people who just leave them in the garage 99 percent of the time. smile

They are fantastic cars, I have done a European Tour and use mine as much as possible... 6000 miles this year...

Enjoy.

Yeah they can be a bit of a nightmare! Luckily I only really go out on the weekends. I like your plate, it suits the car. Are you around this way much?

Glad the car is sorted now smile

hi guys,

How does this ODB work? it actually clears the errors or does it just detect them?
And where do you plug it in?
