does anyone know if a kids seat in back is do-able in a 456
No problem at all :-

As a point of reference for anyone carrying out a search for 456 child seats I can confirm that these two child seats fit into the back of a 456 :-

For 9-18 kg (9 months to 4 years)

http://www.kiddy.de/en/childrens-car...nergy-pro.h...

For 15-36 kg (4 - 12 years)

http://www.kiddy.de/en/childrens-car...erfix-pro.h...

We had actually purchased these seats before I bought the 456 as they have a very good review on the Which? website. The larger child seat is a bit akward to fit into the back of the car, but once it's in place it fits fine.

I have just realised that both these links do not work. If you go onto the kiddy.de website you can choose from the seats there. I have just bought a couple of additional seats from them to avoid the hassle of swapping from one car to another.

They also now do a seat that covers from 9 months to 12 years which will fit a 456. Fabulous.

I never had a problem fitting kiddie seats or boosters into the 456 but when the kids were tall enough not to need to use a booster there was a problem.

"Finished in blue Tour de France 522 with beige hide 4208 and dark blue carpets 168, this 456 represents one of approximately five finished in this shade of blue".

Only 5 in this colour? That doesn't sound right?

Offered with no reserve, so someone is probably going to get an absolute bargain!

I wouldn't place too much reliance on an auctioneer's claims about rarity etc. if I were you. Most of it is hot air. I should have thought that TdF blue is among the commonest colours for a 456, if not the most common.

There's a 456 for sale over here in Ireland if you'd be willing to travel for it.

I don't know the car or the seller.

One reason I don't use my 456 as much as I'd like is that we struggle to get our golden retriever in the back.

I tried to use a racing seat chemical compound to fabricate an insert for the bucket seat but it didn't work out brilliantly!

Does anyone have any other suggestions??

We're hopefully getting a dog in the next 6 months and we're thinking of maybe getting some tough canvas-like material (except smoother) and just draping it over the rear seats (prob folded down) of the 993. Either that, or we'll betraying to fit a Rottweiler on the parcel shelf of a 550 or the rear seats of a mini 850 hehe Might need to buy another car.... biggrin

I would have expected it to go for less than that! If there's a 10k bill hiding in there somewhere, it'll be market value.

Oh well, hopefully the buyer is a happy chap, and one more car kept on the road! All good!
