Seems to have the right credentials, good looking, limited availability, how many really are there?

Not as much as the Vettel 488 biggrin

I can't see it worth much more than a standard, given the success rate Alonso had.

Personally I don't think it passes the "good looking" test.

The Ferrari/Alonso connection must surely affect it's collectability ...smile

There are only three in the UK, I believe. So rather rare.

Could make classic status however you'll have to deal with driving a car named after a complete tt every time you get in it!

More than that. the dealers had more-or-less one each to get shot of. Understandably that did take some time given it is basically a standard car with a tacky paintjob and ugly wheels. No way it should ever be deemed a classic.

Probably one of the finest drivers of all time let down by a poorly performing team dare I say, still managed to be challenging the top runners. In my book one of the greats! I hope he does well at McLaren

Agree with Jonathan.

Regardless of numbers the paint and wheels make it undesirable.

A completely unnecessary edition to release.

I take it you didn't see his 'performance' at McLaren the first time round...

So you are writing off a great career because he was unlucky in a poor car? Wouldn't want to work for yougetmecoat

Mmmmmm, apologies didn't read your post correctly!!

Alonso was not in a good place first time at McLaren his behaviour was not acceptable and I believe he leanrt from it.

I was not a fan at the time but he gained my respect with his stoic performances at Ferrari.

Let's see how he gets along this time around.

Nothing to do with his car - his attitude (esp to his team / team mate) stinks...

599 GTB - great cars. 599 GTO and Aperta - stunning and priced accordingly - if you can get one.

599 Alonso - it's a tacky paint job - I think a few were signed by Alonso in the UK - doesn't add anything to the 599 GTB - and arguably detracts (as it looks hideous).....

I'd go with a well spec'd 599 GTB - possibly with HGTC pack if you can find one - and be very happy.

Just my two penneth....

JCT600 may disagree, they just sold one for close to £500,000. Had a tour of the facilities and stock recently when buying my 612 HSTC one to one.

This is not about Alonso or his lack of success, it's about Ferrari and the rarity of its cars. It's virtually impossible to buy a cheap Ferrari these days and it's getting worst. If you reflect back to the 1980's the exact same thing happened in the premium car market, and we all know the outcome of that!

Question is when will the bubble burst this time around?

They could have painted them brown and called them the 599 Dogst Special Edition, and as long as it was an official Ferrari model built in limited numbers they'd still be commanding a premium in this stupid current market, but that wouldn't make it a future classic.

You willing to pay top money for a mint low mileage RHD 599 GTO? A mint low mileage F50? A delivery miles RHD Speciale Aperta? Probably, assuming you can find them. You will willing to pay a silly premium for a lovely car with a daft name and embarrassing paintjob? Probably not.

The market isn't stupid, just some of its punters.
