I'm still hoping there will be a round 2 of allocations. Really want one to sit next to my GTO and would go for a total custom livery and colour. It's a shame car would be tracked and seen everywhere like all my cars. Hopefully Ferrari will give the UK a few more...
I think Bertie is hoping for a round 2 of allocations but seems unlikely now? They look so savage, wonder if they could make the gto look and feel boring by comparison? ... Highly unlikely but I'm sure you understand what I'm saying! I understand from elsewhere the factory was planning to call the tdf, GTO. But didn't because of 599 GTO customer pressure. There was good reason for the factory to call it the next GTO, the tdf is a huge step up performance-wise from the GTO. At c 123 bhp per litre it is the pinnacle of Ferrari's NA V12 engineering. I've not driven the tdf yet but I expect it to be significantly more savage than my GTO. From the looks department however, I doubt tdf will outdo the GTO. The tdf is complex close-up: scoops, winglets, carbon extensions everywhere. Wonderfully aggressive but the GTO's presence is mighty and its design by comparison, sweeter.

The GTO is from another era to this tdf. As compatible as a scud to Speciale. The GTO feels heavy, big, raw, loud and clunky and my guess is the tdf will feel much smoother, sharper and lighter. Two beasts that get compared for obvious reasons but two that really will go down differently to the owners of both. I'm a huge fan of the Speciale, I think I'm well over 6k miles in mine, set of pads, a wheel hub and 5 sets of tyres - got to know her well. She suits the track and spirited drives. The GTO is more a cruiser with a hard edge. It couldn't take the abuse the Speciale can. I'm hoping this TDF achieves an f12 Speciale, a car that car really be used if the owner wants. If I'm buying it it's because of that reason alone because as much as I want to like the looks it's no oil painting.Gassing Station | Ferrari V12 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
