Morning everyone, am going to look at the 612 at jct in Leeds and just wondered if anyone knew the car or had any experience with these guys?

Also I see authorising autofacinnia has a grey and black one in, anyone know this one either?

I quite like the look of the blue one but I wondered whether grey suits the 612 better ?

Hey mate, that's why we all love piston heads..... Would it be ok to drop you a pm with a couple of q's? I am not to worried about the demonstrator and also good if you had it for so long but there's a couple of question marks in my head about it.

Would you mind if I dropped you a pm with a couple of q's

Best

Hi Andy
It's my old car. I chopped it in for an FF fairly recently. It is a great car. I bought it from Ferrari as it was their press demonstrator - while you may think that means it's been thrashed by every hack known to man, I take the opposite view that it was looked after by the engineers and had the very best spec and engine.

I loved it owned it for the best part of 9 years. Just needed the bigger leg room of the FF for the kiddies.
My 575 was Graypaul's demo car. Friend works at Maranello and printed me out the rmaintenance sheet on the car...pretty much had everything done to it that could be done. Rubs as sweet as a nut at 70,000 miles...often the higher mileage cars are the best....and Gavin never thrashes his cars... wink

Hi - I'd be interested to hear how you got on. I was thinking about that one, but being in Bournemouth - it's a bit of a stretch to get to see it...

Was it the same car as used by Top Gear for the Verbier race? I remember that one being blue (and having noisy windscreen wipers smile).....

I went to see this today and took it for spin, it's a big step up comfort wise form the 456 and is definitely nicer to drive, I'm not sure it's a pretty as the 456 but certainly came away thinking that I liked the marque

In terms of the specific car, difficult to say as its the only one I have seen, I would say the interior is good but the paints need some attention but nothing serious.

I am looking at the autoficinnia one this week all being well so I will be able to compare the two....

On the verbier car subject, not sure but funnily enough the guy did mention it on the test drive? Maybe turbo might know :-)

From a quick search it looks like the top gear car was a 2004...

Isn't that car a bit pricey? The red one at Millennium Heroes/Fast Classics seems much better value with only 20k miles. Also think red suits the 612 better. I'm tempted as they must be at the bottom of the curve now. I know the guys turn out excellent cars there as well.

Not quite. They were at the bottom of the curve a couple of years ago. Now they're well up on it again.

Prices are definitely on the up, recently been offered £10, 000 more than I paid for my car in June.

The one at jct sold, but wasn't for me as needed as was too strong a money for the car.... So the search continues.....

What do you think the price ranges are for these? They seem to range from late 60s up to late 80s and it's quite hard to judge what you're paying for. Would prefer something reasonably low mileage.

Difficult to say, I know what they paid for the jct car roughly and they reckoned they got asking price but I don't believe it, I think that they will be spending a bit on it before it goes out the door though.

There are certainly more about than there was 6 months ago but I would imagine that most are on SOR so they are probably not able to do a deal anyway?

Has anyone on here bought one lately?

Hi - I have just bought the one from JCT that you looked at... I didn't realise it was that one (as I got it through a dealer friend) until I saw some documentation and some different pics (that were the same as the one on their site!).

No, which was a little risky - but it came with two years warranty which gives me piece of mind for most things. It was a bit of a heart over head decision. I have missed a couple recently through 'head' decisions and all I have seen is the prices rising. A bit of me thought it was no or never.

Also - I think (perhaps predictably) this was a little undervalued - I didn't realise it had the HGTS package until I saw the spec. Dealers seem to add-on considerably for that and, for what it's worth given the current chat, the dealer told my dealer that he could have sold it for £10k more last week than when I bought it the week before. This could be complete BS but the guy who sourced the car for me knows them quite well so, who knows.

Good luck with your search.
