Unfortunately not, there was zero response from PH participants. Could still be possible if someone is interested...

Yes same as mine .. bet it was at the same time. It was registered on the 23/12/2008, quite a christmas present for the first owner!

Slightly O/T but I bought a Calibra Turbo from Vauxhall Direct which was first registered on the14th Feb. I always wondered whether it was for the wife or the mistress... wink

Yup 14/11/2008. Can't imagine they were selling too many Ferrari's back end of 2008.

Yup - brothers of the meltdown. BTW did dvb247 take the plunge? OP are you enjoying the melodious roar of the V12 or still the V8? Whatever you do don't put it on Reader's Cars - poor old Charly Sparrow got a bit of a kicking. Mind you, the car market in general is taking a bit of a kicking at the moment and I think there is more to come. I'll stand by my opinion that 612s are at least a £70k car but asking prices have dipped this year.

I do think too many cars are being squirrelled away instead of used as intended and that's a shame but everyone has their own car ownership objectives and so be it. I think I have only ever seen two other 612s on the road, a silver one parked up in London and a champagne one on the M25. The longer I have the 612 the more I think it will be a long term keeper - but then I have deposit down for the new TVR and the current plan is to sell the 612 when and if that arrives circa 2019.

Hi guys, of course I'm enjoying the read and that stunning picture of the 612 over the F430, what a garage / car combo.

I've test driven both the 458 and the 488 recently, both great cars but at this time of year the 458 is to expensive, not will to pay near new prices for a 2011 458 with 15-20k miles no so have parked that for now, the 488 is an option but I'm pretty sure buyers remorse will soon follow after collection due to 24 months of severe depreciation ahead,
So I'm back at the same place really, can't seem to part with my F430 as I love it and I know I'll miss it, so my thoughts turn to a 612 or possibly even a 599 as a daily tin top winter beast.

I was mulling over the 612 in grey at Wilmslow Stratstone, they've had it for nearly a year at £79,991 but 2 months ago they shifted it to £92k and last month they moved it to over £100k, when I mentioned it they said the car has increased in value, I didn't comment but thought that was a joke as I have had my eye on several, non of which have sold so I'm thinking this is a classic case of dealer market manipulation, one does it and the rest try it on too.

So for now I'll wait, possibly even to the winter months, I'm in no rush, but keep the pictures and owner insight coming in biggrin
many thanks
Dave

Grey is a great colour for the 612 but I'd be surprised if they got over 100k in the current market. Took this shot this evening while putting the bins out. Been using the 612 more over the last few weeks while the 430 awaits it's big brake kit. There is a perspex shield below the the 430 btw, just in case something drops or drips!

I think that is sensible, there's lots of talk about prices deflating

I'd say they will drop from today's levels once the FF drops further - still has some way to go imo, which will depress values on driven "standard" 612s (the Sessanta, various OTO will trade at a premium). Warranty extension costs 3.5k or 4k euros pa and free servicing will run out - combine this with the fact that the cars are driven a lot more than in the past, I do not think they will be 6-digit cars forever - as a result the 612 will be pushed down.

At some point these types of cars also attract very few buyers imo - many people who drive a 4-seater non-vintage Ferrari are likely rich enough to buy a new one, which is a better daily driver proposition than a 10-15 year old car. Not that many enthusiasts buy 4-seater V12s as their weekend cars.

Currently, the prices are distorted by everything having increased substantially in value over the last few years, but once rates rise I think these cars will suddenly attract very little interest.

To drive and enjoy, I would not hesitate to recommend one - I love driving my big 4-seater 20k km per year all year round (it is a big & heavy car though, better test drive before buying) - but I would be very careful with thinking they will never drop from today's levels.
Good analysis

Still enjoying my 612, had a decent run out to Spa this year - not to track it but to watch GT4. Just a wonderful car to do longer trips in - comfortable, fast, sounds amazing, and with enough boot space and mod cons to keep us happy. Another year another service (new timing belts this year too) and made me think of this thread. Below is the latest graph for the 612 from https://themarket.co.uk/market-trends. I have added a few others for interest. Of the 2+2s it appears that the 456 is on the way up, the 612 enjoying slow and steady appreciation, and the FF still coming down. Absolutely predictable I guess, although it begs the question of whether the 456 as the classic will support the others or ultimately overtake them..? Have added the 2 seater V12 graphs in as well for comparison. As said previously in this thread these are advertised and not selling prices so an inaccurate measure of value but probably pretty good at identifying trends. Also not my work, so please visit https://themarket.co.uk if you find this useful - lots of great info on there.

And the 2 seater V12's..

Interesting how the F12 is almost a straight line .. thought they would have fallen with the new model coming out or simply age. Looks like I bought my 599 at the peak .. early 2017. I wonder if the 599 will bounce back?

I think the F12 might hold value pretty well (relatively speaking and ignoring a general downturn in market prices) as it is similar tech to the 812 and - at least imo - much prettier

FF still falling but I think some of that might be also due to higher mileage (mine is now up to 60k km), I suspect these are used much more as daily drivers than the 612 and 456 (both I suspect will eventually overtake the FF - at least good examples - due to timeless beauty and less tech that can go wrong)
