Mine definitely have my name on them, so yes we must! wink

The black car actually looks nice front that angle but the red car in the opening post is hideous imo.

Never you mind

Hopefully they have some form of active roll over protection because they look like a roll over would be somewhat painful!!
I kind of get the feeling that none of these will ever turn a wheel, unless it's coming of a trailer.

I think its good they are doing something so different. It reminds me of the SLS AMG when it first came out no one was doing anything so retro, or the SLR.

It's refreshing to see a return to simplicity in contrast to the usual cad designed mayhem of creases. The best in Italian styling is always well ahead of the curve & often only appreciated by the herd a decade later.

I think it is stunning and I hope it is an indication that ferrari Design language is moving away from elongated front light clusters (still think 812 front lights are quite ugly)

I know it’s business and from that perspective makes perfect sense but it’s a shame that the underlying motivation of producing these limited edition models is no longer about the cars themselves but simply taking advantage of ultra high net worth individuals that have a compulsion to have to add to their collection.

It’s almost a bit tragic really, and somewhat pathetic.

Ferrari has always sold its cars to high net worth individuals, nothing new there. It's also always been about making money, initially to fund racing.

True. But it somehow just feels different. There is now a certain “vulgarity” in their strategy to leverage their heritage to simply “milk” the market.

As I said fairplay to them but there has to be a point where the “Gordon Ramsey’s” of this world pick up the phone from Ferrari and say “ Not another bloody one!”

This is the kind of car that makes me get up and think about working harder in the mornings.

Utterly spectacular.

This!

Ferrari is celebrating the end of a motoring era in style in a hope that these cars are preserved and celebrated in the decades to come. It’s not a coincidence they’re putting their largest, most powerful NA unit in the monza at the same time announcing how they’re steering Ferrari for the future with hybrid power units, suvs etc.

Fair point, it could well be a swansong finale for the mighty 12

Yes but why?

Fanboyism aside (and there seems to be a lot of that on this forum) , why?

Have they been designing cars all along incorrrectly and this is how they should now be in order to extract maximum performance on the track?

This is simply a money extracting exercise from Ferrari PLC. Nothing wrong with that as long as people admit it.

But the car serves no purpose. They stopped making cars like this years ago presumably because downforce was crap?

It is the 812 platform with a different body kit. It might look great but so what? Is that what Ferrari has become? It’s a vulgar money extracting exercise. Design should have functional purpose shouldn’t it and push the boundaries not rehash yesteryear?

Are you serious that you have an issue with something being designed merely to look good and that a car has to serve a purpose....? Not everything needs to be designed 'in order to extract maxmimum performance on track' y'know.. and in fact it's exactly this farcical focus on laptimes that has led us to today's cars that are designed to do a couple of laps very quickly but are otherwise far too heavy/costly to run/fix/replace on track and in fact if one then looks closer at the said laptimes that are generating all the hype, it's mainly only the bloody tyres that are producing that kind of improvement.

Obviously not but surely it depends on how it is marketed? It’s a Ferrari isn’t it? Does relative performance no longer matter?

Everybody should now expect to see a modern 250 GTO produced also in limited numbers. Why not?

And that will probably now go for every other heritage design. Fairplay to them but it is simply a money extracting exercise.

Ferrari always used to be about “win on Sunday, sell on Monday” didn’t it?

Each new generation introduced new technology. I’m not sure what this car is for? Other than bragging rights on the 18th hole at Pebble Beach. (Great course by the way!)

I think you're describing the wrong country.

Italian design is not Bauhaus less is more, form follows function. I don't see the problem in creating something attractive that sells.

In fact, Ferrari historically have been quite slow to pick up new technology & automotive design ideas. Injectors, mid engine, the list is long.
