F12 considerations

Picked her up at the weekend. Not had the weather yet to really have a go but Christ what a weapon ! Just grinned the entire way home and the great thing is you don’t need to be going 100+ to get that incredible noise from the engine. I know I am biased but difficult to see what could better this. Ludicrous !

Nice and subtle combo, as befitting a V-12 super-GT....the looks might be quite restrained, but the driving experience most certainly isn't ! EnjoyCarsandLeeds said:

V12 sound is utterly amazing! Small Car said:
Picked up mine last Friday as well. HR Owen, red with cream daytona. Aiming to put a load of miles on it this year (more than it has done in its life to date). I have no idea what it is like to drive, even with a long drive north after picking it up, as was generally bricking it. First Ferrari!
Lovely, enjoy. Is that your R8 too or just a coincidence?

I see on the Ferrari used site that there are now plenty of cars available under £180k and some even nearer to £165k!
Seems like the bargain of the century. I am tempted to jump from the 458 to one (not much more money to top up!) but not sure how these will fair residually as the 812 Superfast will be the last naturally aspirated V12 from Ferrari as compared to the 458 which was the last NA V8.

I also was keen to buy the 812 being the last NA V12 and I was impressed with its dynamic capability when I drove the car on Fiorano. However the F12 is more beautiful, I like how it's Pininfarina design and I prefer the switch gear and design in the cockpit as well. Admittedly I'm getting quite picky but there are just a few small things which really get on my nerves about the 812. An F12 TDF would do me just fine

Both play a big part in my buying decisions I'm afraid. I would probably keep it for 3 years as that is the time I have had my 458 and have been spoilt as it did not lose any money in the 3 years I have owned it. Hence my comment about values. Fantastic looking motor!

I don’t really see a reason why they should not eventually hit the same (or a similar) bottom as the 550 (likely more cars built, I suspect eventually higher servicing and repair costs due to integrated systems, CCBs, double-clutch tranny etc.). I don’t think the last 5-7 years are the new norm. depreciation to date has been glacial, but I think that just delayed the normal development as opposed to negating it. It will be interesting to see though if the TDF also gives back a lot of the value appreciation - I somehow think that in the medium term the 599 GTO should be worth the same or more due to the lower number built (quite possibly closer to today’s GTO values as opposed to TDf values though)
Am i right in thinking there are two types of seats for the F12? The standard sport seats and the racing seats.
Also, the standard ones can be trimmed in Daytona style but they are still the same shape and seat is this right?
Are they all-electric or is this an option?
Do the seats make a difference to the desirability of the car or are they all fine and just personal choice?
Thanks!

There were not fewer 599 GTOs built than F12Tdfs. Don't believe Ferrari's numbers.Jack-flash said:
Anyone else recently been kicked in the nuts with the news that the f12 has biblically dropped, recent chat with Leeds who I bought mine from in feb telling me if I was to part ex against a 488 spyder I’d be looking at 55k loss @ 6 months and around 900-1k miles ownership,
I think the same would have been true if you'd bought a 488 instead of the F12..Ferrari work on some ridiculous huge margins between trade and retail. Porsche OPCs in complete contrast work on a fraction of this spread IME.Gassing Station | Ferrari V12 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
