It's more about the colour toning than the material itself.
My interior would look naff with the matt silvery tones of the aluminium trim whereas the gloss of the CF lifts the interior to another level. If gloss black alu was available, it would work just as well.
I can appreciate that CF is not appropriate in every case but it definitely has its place aesthetically.
And for the naysayers, it's very easy to spot the difference between real CF and the faux CF on mass market cars. And as for sporting vs GT pretensions, the FF may be the GT in Ferrari's lineup but it will out-sport most other marque's sportiest cars...

On a more performance orientated model, the V8s or the F12/812 I can see the appeal of the LED wheel. On a 4 seater "family" model, then no its just a little silly.
if you actually have to look down at the steering wheel to know when to change gears...we have an issue! the sound should be plenty enough.Had Stradale (x2 actually) and a Scud...never thought it was missing on the Stradale, and never looked at them on the Scud!
On track you always look a lot ahead (and so should you on sprit drives)...you don't have time to look at the steering wheel, in a road car the steering wheel is a lot lower than in a F1
Pure marketing gimmick is all it is!

Gimmick? Absolutely, however most buyers want it. You know, cos racing driver. We all think like that when it comes to certain types of car. Don't pretend you don't. Had Stradale (x2 actually) and a Scud...never thought it was missing on the Stradale, and never looked at them on the Scud!

I actually agree though. FF, no buckets, the odd CF to remind you your in something special, dark colour, brown(sih) seats. Nothing too sporty it is after all a GT. Perfect. Then treat it like your average estate car
Hi,
Do all see no panoramic roof as a deal breaker?
On a separate note does anyone have any experience of owning a RRover sport svr?
May be a mid life crisis but bored of my 5.0 RangeRover and dealer suggested an svr.
Thinking also FF/Lusso or May be svr ?
Noticed the 1 owner FF that sold on CC for £118 at now at MeridienM for £140?? 🤣

The beautiful thing about choice is that both preferences can be satisfied. There's no real trick by Ferrari here, I wouldn't blame them per se - people have their own visions and this is what opens their wallets. (and as AnoPax or MDL111 says at least they use carbon and not stickers)
I love the US approach to this which is "if you don't like it - change it". The wheel is completely modular as regards the top quadrant, the 2 sides, and the center 'cap' - just look at 10 cars and you'll see the permutations and combinations.
- Don't like the alu center cap on your wheel and want to switch to carbon? https://www.macarbon.com/component/virtuemart/458-...
- Don't like the alu paddles? https://www.macarbon.com/component/virtuemart/458f...
- Want LEDs? or want new LEDs with the blue limit lights like the Lusso? https://www.macarbon.com/component/virtuemart/cust...
Amazing what the application of cash to an issue achieves. And when you sell the car you can offer the new buyer all the parts so they can choose.
That center carbon wheel cap would really lift that Macari car. $525 and a screwdriver sets the mind to work...it's the prettiest car in the classifieds imo. Just need to get motivated to see it.

Not an SVR, but my RR Sport Autobiography has around 650bhp, and a commensurate increase over stock in torque and across the rev range, and I'm very happy with it indeed.Do all see no panoramic roof as a deal breaker?

0-60 is just under 4 seconds, I've no idea at all of the top speed, and it's just a great car for everyday use. I didn't want any change in the suspension, or a louder exhaust, so for me this was the way to go.
It's complemented by an SL63, a Mclaren 650s, and a Smart ForFour, but is by far the most used.

Pano roof is not a dealbreaker as it wasn't even available as an option on early cars.Do all see no panoramic roof as a deal breaker?

It only benefits the rear passengers as the rake of the windscreen is so steep that the driver's eyes are ahead of the pano roof line.
So decide if you're regularly going to carry passengers who will notice the benefit of the roof and take it from there.

I really wanted the LED steering wheel when I set out to buy mine but came across my car and it doesn’t have it fitted. Honestly I can’t say that I miss it all. I think that for the nature of the car and the way I use it, it’s not really necessary.
On the aluminium trim front mine has it and I really do not like it. At some point I’m going to get that sorted and either make it piano black or carbon finish.

Am I the only person who thinks trinket Carbon downgrades an interior?
I must admit, I personally can’t stand it.
I sit squarely next to you.I must admit, I personally can’t stand it.
Am not a fan of carbon unless it's part of the build.
Interiors with carbon, especially in an FF don't seem to fit.
In an FF I want soft, luxurious materials.
Carbon is for a stripped out racer.
Hey, what do I know I don't own an FF, yet. It is on our list in 18 months time.
I'm just hovering and learning.
I'm also not a fan of the lights on the steering wheel.
I see the FF as Ferrari's modern GT and all rounder.

ANOpax your FF is a lovely spec. Are those F12 wheels on it?
Thank you very much. The wheels are not F12 wheels. They are forged OZ Racing Zeus with a 20/21 stagger. I wrote a long and detailed post on them over at FChat if you’re interested. But the quick version is this;
F12 wheels aren’t rated for a high enough axle load to be fitted to the FF or Lusso (even though plenty of people do). I wanted to fit the TdF wheels to my FF but they aren’t strong enough. So I spent a lot of time looking for a similar design which would could take the FF's weight. The OZ wheels are half the price of HREs and maintain the Ferrari connection as OZ are a OE supplier to Ferrari and of course, if they’re good enough for the Scuderia then they’re good enough for me!

Is this Shmee's old one? spec seems to match. It's quite an old one, I incorrectly thought a 2012 was the launch year.

It says in the ad it’s Shmee’s ex car and that videos are available. https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/10540018?c...

Could have used a proper cleaning, especially as a picture shows it at a detailing shop...cream leather looks rather filthy on some pictures.
