The answers is yes, people seem to treat them like ordinary cars, within reason. Plenty are parked out on streets here in SW London, not even in driveways. Very people have a garage, and even driveways are in the minority. There's a Mac 720S that lives in the street under a cover a couple of streets from me...

Thanks for all the comments. Re the Capristo back box - it solves the noise issue inside. I’d say a louder version of the usual sound vs changing it to a F1 V12 screamer sound. And it’s switchable via remote - there’s a valve which is always open or controlled as per usual with the engine ECU based on manettino setting, revs and torque demand.

With the valves open (sport) at idle it’s a gruff fart, has a resonance at about 3k rpm and then becomes tuneful to the redline where you can hear the layers of V12 harmonics.

If you run it in normal mode (cruise) it goes from quiet to blare at about 3k rpm when the valves open and is quite abrupt - so it’s actually more pleasant to leave the valves open all the time most of the time.

If you want quiet, switch to comfort and as long as you don’t push it the valves don’t open. Ok in town and on motorway, can easily speak and no droning.

Hi Andy. Lovely looking car. I currently have a Granturismo S which I'm thinking of exchanging for an F F next year (50th birthday present to myself).
I've had the maser for 5 years and adore it.
What are your thoughts having done the same?

I had a GT-S MC Shift for 3 years, that I sold around 2 years ago.

The FF is a different level. It actually doesn’t sound as good on the inside (and V12 vs cross plane V8 are quite different sounds anyway), but the driving experience is so much more.

If I’m honest I think my Panamera GTS is probably a better drive than the GranTurismo, much as I hate to say it.

New owner of FF is rosso fuoco. Where did you buy the clear lens? I want one as well!

Pictures as promised, arrived a couple of weeks ago replacing my Granturismo. Has the benefit of a switchable Capristo back box biggrin

Rosso Maranello - absolutely gorgeous colour.

Ferrari V12 noise and handles better at 7/10+ than the Maserati. Trip computer doesn't appear to have an mpg reading....hehe.....Very happy!

Beautiful! I have one in fuoco. Wonder how the 2 colours match up side by side.

Hi all,

So tomorrow is the big day! Looking forward to my first Ferrari! Managed to get a service history from Ferrari. Still worried about the dreaded PTU - i should stop reading forums!! Ive seen anything from 5% chance to inevitable! Comes with a warranty, but is the Ferrari warranty worth getting when it expires, or stick with warranty company?

Just wanted to ask for the latest info on rusted nuts on the brake disks as mine have started going recently.

Any info will be appreciated.

Thanks

Sorry for the delay replying, I'm quite busy at the moment. The car just has the back box, not the x-pipe. I'll try and and record a video from inside the car showing what I was trying to describe, but that will take me a few days.

I had the GranTurismo for 5 years and I was sad to see it go, it had lots of character and I have a lot of fond memories of trips with that car. I still think it's the best sounding car, possibly ever made, with the sport button pressed which opens the exhaust valve full time. Space is simliar to FF, perhaps more in the FF. I have a 2015 with Apple Car Play so the tech is slightly more usable. In terms of handling, I've not driven enough to get a good view, but first impressions is that it handles better past the 7/10ths, where the Maserati damping would start to bobble about and you had to drive around the weight transfer that it caused. The FF is more like the F10 M5 (good thing) and perhaps feels more sprightly. The FF steering has the Ferrari trait of being quicker but without better turn in, I prefer more linear steering aligned with the turn in of the M5. Or in fact the 720S (best car ever made) which has fantastic steering and turn in. But don't get me wrong, the FF has a lot of character (more than the M5) and is a lot of fun.

Hi adm010, I hope today is great fun for you! I saw your posts over on Fchat also. I think the FF makes a great first ferrari, so much so i am expecting one as my first in the next few weeks also!

Enjoy today and do let us know how you are getting on (with photos)!

I know most on this thread are Michelin fans, but if anyone wants a set of barely used P Zeros for the FF give me a shout through DM. Cheers

New arrival! Can’t quite believe it..! Spent the past four years thinking about one. It’s a fantastic thing and I’ve only experienced London traffic so far. Looking forward to see pictures of the other new arrivals on here.

Congrats from a fellow FF owner. But actually I see from your garage you used to own an Abarth 595 Esseesse. I'm considering a one or two year old one as a daily hack that will feel small / light / good feedback. Would you recommend?

Thanks! I must update the garage as things have come and gone since then. We’ve had two Abarth’s, the first a 500 Esseesse, an early one and the second a 2012 595 Competizione, so both pre-facelift. Both had zero steering feel but light, small and quick. The second was the better car, better damping/springs but had Sabelt bucket seats which looked cool but weren’t comfortable at all. I’m sure the later facelift cars are that bit better again. Although I’m not sure I’d want to pay much more than £15k for one. I also would never choose to take it on a spirited drive.. great as a city car or for just pottering about and the hatch is useful too.

FF was originally going to be a daily but for me it’s just too nice, so will be garaged and used for weekends etc. RS6 remains the trusty for daily duties and dog wagon!

I'm getting interested in these but the entry price spread seems huge. For example the black GVE 2012 car on 41k @£82k with all those extras looks great value and I thought price reflected mileage? But then you have Simon Dolan's ex 2012 FF on 42k with less extras albeit a fantastic colour combo @£103k.

What gives?

It will be interesting to see how much the one on Collecting Cars at the moment goes for. Currently at £72.5k for a 2012 with 40k miles. Black with a black and red interior: -
