In case anyone is looking at the ex FNE press car in the BCA Auction on 3 Feb, you should probably watch Jay Emm's latest video first https://youtu.be/-u0yfvlOoK4

And quite eye opening the risks of buying a car punted out by a dealer at auction. Whilst they 'refused' to sell him the car when the PPI listed c£25k of issues why not reduce it and sell it to him as a 'trade sale'? A dealer is going to catch a cold at BCA with this one.

I honestly don't see what the fuss is about. These videos are entertainment, youtubers montetize via viewers and likes much like the daily mail. Youtubing is not profession and is purely opinion. It's not for the public good like official health updates.

There are facts in the vid yes but there's a healthy amount of spin. The suggestive tone all the while saying "but there's nothing wrong here" erases any credibility. If you get the car in question for 75k you're fine but no one says this.

It's all very "well duh, yeah..." like buying the cheapest anything on the market or auctions of art or watches. Caveat emptor.

It's also more than a little disingenuous to talk about the £30k PTU repair cost shock without mentioning that they can now be repaired and upgraded for £8k (he mentions that the PTU can now be rebuilt at lower cost rather than replaced, but not by how much).

And this claim that the FF is fragile and you should avoid early ones is cobblers. PTU excepted, they are no better or worse than other cars of their generation and the only running change affecting reliability from the early cars was the brittle tie wrap which also affected 458s and Californias.

Listed on BCA site for today's Enfield auction but clicking on it goes to "page not found" so seems like it might have been withdrawn at the last minute as it was showing full details yesterday.

Sold for £60,500 so £61,250 with fees. Looks to be enough in it to sort it and punt it out.

I think the silver FF is my old car, I traded it in earlier this year having enjoyed it for 18 months or so. I'm guessing its been sold / traded in again since but would say that whilst I had it the car was great and a real pleasure to own. Massive bonnet aside which made junctions more of a challenge I couldn't fault it and the noise was magical...

Price wise for 2022 I've no idea. When I bought mine in 2019 I assumed they'd fall further and the opposite was true so were it me I would buy expecting the worst whilst keeping my fingers crossed for the best. Good luck if you go for it.....
Great to read its was your car and it served you well, as I bought it in December, although I have not taken delivery of it yet. I look forward to its arrival in the spring. In my opinion FF prices are on the up as many realise the rarity of a V12 and its alot more fun sharing a 208mph Ferrari with 3 passengers than just one.. FF = Family Ferrari.

Agree with that. No more 4 seat proper Ferraris ever again.

Glad I bought a V12 when I did.

Only a 4 seat SUV in future from Ferrari.

The FF and 365 Lusso are the only four seaters with what I would call Proper performance as they are 200mph plus cars.

I’ve had a 612 and even though it was a great car I wasn’t impressed with the performance particularly but the FF I have now is plenty quick enough to keep you focused on what you’re doing. I was a little worried the FF being fwd was going to be a bit boring but it’s not at all. I’ve had quite a few “moments” when snap oversteer (dampish conditions and worn rears) has occurred and tbh I love that type of behaviour as you have to respect the car just like you should with any performance car.

I would say that the FF and lusso v12’s will only go up in value from now on as they’re very rare and also very nice to own and use, even in winter if you want to so I would highly recommend one to anyone who’s thinking of buying one.

I plan on keeping mine a long time.

Very excited to pick it up, although my beautiful wife has threatened to divorce me if I get it.. so if she really means it I may have to sell it.. lets hope not. I really feel the FF will slowly appreciate and I hope to keep it a long time, I've had my 355 for 20 years, but it is time to pass it on. I cant wait to take the family out in the FF.. I'll keep you posted and post some pics..

My first Ferrari was a manual 1998 355 gtb and I loved that car so much. I should have kept it but I was young then so was always after the next best thing etc which means you change cars far too often lol.

You will miss the 355 but the FF is so much more car in many ways so I’m sure you won’t regret the change.

The only thing I wish I could have is a manual gearbox these days as I really miss changing gears myself but overall the FF is far superior as it’s much more modern and refined but it’s quick too.

As FF threads kept popping up in the last week, I decided to get mine back this weekend and will take it to Munich this week to finally have a new navigation screen installed to I finally have some functionality again. Then it should be good to go for taking over daily(ish) duty again.

Yes I will miss my 355 spider and the manual gearbox, but after 20 years its time as I simply never use it, especially with 2 children. So looking forward the 4 of us going places and arriving in style.. The FF just makes so much sense on so many levels..
