nice cars but tainted by how many people were forced to buy them to get a pista then offloaded them straight away
A lot on market because of that, yes. I know it's not what you mean, but no-one was forced to buy one...I was offered the same deal (though it was against a future 812) and didn't get as far as replying. (Have a Lusso now, bought at today's money and very happy with it)
I don't think Ferrari has done customer relations much good, and many are feeling the hit now that the 812 and even the Pista are not as hard to get as was promised.

Anyway...back to Lussos...
Hard to think of competition at the moment, and I really hope that Ferrari is going to produce proper 4 seater cars in future; not just SUVs.
One of the good things is that it's relatively inconspicuous and more subtle than the rest of the range. A Ferrari SUV is likely to be almost the opposite.
Seems the classy Euro continental GT could be sacrificed for the same customers in Far East and elsewhere that like the new BMW front grilles.

maybe not entirely clear... what I meant was that the new design language with big grilles on Mercs, BMWs etc are supposedly aimed at the Far East market where making a bold/brash statement is more in fashion.
I hope that Ferrari isn't designing the PuroSang to appeal to the 'in your face' market more than to those who appreciate the relative subtlety of Lussos, 612s etc

I'd say it's extremely likely. The biggest global markets for SUV (by a HUGE margin) are USA and China. Both like "in your face" design and B I G grilles. The new BMWs do look hideous, so I'm sure Ferrari won't go that far... they are Italian after all
But back on topic, I really do not see a successor to the Lusso ever being created, now that Ferrari is a listed corporate. 4 seat Ferarris will only be SUVs in future, as that's where the volume is.
I got a really nice surprise. Ferrari had sent the original owner of my Lusso a precise hand made one-off model of his exact car, right down to every spec detail inside and outside.
Top guy, as he so kindly dropped it off at my house for me, to keep with my car.
It is in fact never opened and still security sealed, so I don't have the heart to unseal it either now.
It even came with three photographs from Ferrari's production line of my car being built.
Kudos to Ferrari for enhancing the (V12) customer buying experience in this way, and so very kind of the original owner to pass it on to me.

Very nice, and always good when people take the time to do stuff like that.
I’ve done 3000 miles in mine since July and another 2k to come this month. Can’t believe how much I like it, and sorry it seems like the last of its kind, just as I’ve discovered them!
Fantastic cars, and especially at today’s prices there’s nothing comparable for me.
Here’s mine, in case anyone is sitting on a model of it ;-). I had wheels painted silver from black.

Very nice - what colour is your car? Is it one of the Blu Helen painted ones?
Yes it is, I hadn’t heard of it before, but it’s a great colour, changes a lot in different light.I remember seeing some pics of your car when it was for sale. The interior is pretty special too. You have a lovely car and made a great purchase. Congratulations and enjoy it.

It’s rare and was quite an expensive paint option I think. From what I can tell, there are only 2 in the U.K. that colour and I have seen any on the continent in Blu Helen at all.

Thanks - good to know...I had to search for a while to find some pics of the colour! There’s a 612TdF which seems like it started the trend.I remember seeing some pics of your car when it was for sale. The interior is pretty special too. I was lucky to get this one after ringing round dealers - realised there weren’t many as well specced, and pushed to get it before it was advertised again. Not as easy to get pics of inside but as you say it’s well put together - carbon everything and blu medio alcantara.
Didn’t actually see the car til collection day, but Kudos to original owner!

Incredibly versatile & luxurious - yet it's a V12 supercar that does over 200mph... and screams like an old F1 car, when unleashed with the right exhaust.
