good result getting out of the F12 for the same money you paid for it - only car that ever happened to me with was the 458 spider.
I have had an F12 - sold 3 years ago ,so not a true back to back comparison but I have had my 812 for 6 months - I find it better in every department- the engine and more importantly the handling is significantly improved.
I also thing the interior is a significant improvement.
looks are subjective of course
I put this down to the rear wheel steering which ,to me, makes the car feel smaller than it is on the twisty roads.

It is an absolute beast but I had winter tyres on mine and you can trundle around in wet mode quite happily if you want to DD drive it.

For me ,the best car I ever owned and you won't regret the change.

Interestingly there seems to be a dwindling supply on the market , particularly through official dealers.

My dealer called me recently and asked if I was interested in selling it back ( I didn't ask how much as I don't want to sell it)and I intend to keep it forever as I suspect it will be the pinnacle of ferrari normally aspirated V12's in a non limited edition car. which is interesting as a year or so again I heard that dealers weren't even prepared to offer on them!
This !
I have skin in the game so can be accused of talking up my own book but I think it was widely assumed (and I understand Ferrari initially intended) that the 812 Competitzione would be built in the same sort of numbers as the Pista. Now we know it will be very limited Superfasts are being snapped up.

Just deposited on an 812 a couple of days ago .... virtually no stock about.... been looking for months for ‘my’ spec and very little out there.
Probably paid about £15k more than I would have 3 months ago but the good news is the much increased trade in. The dealers seem absolutely desperate to get quality stock in. Just had to have a V12 (never had one) before their inevitable demise. Here’s hoping it lives up to expectations!

I can believe that. If this is likely to be one of the last pure V12 Ferraris then I will be keeping mine as well.

To add to the thread, I never really got on with my F12, in comparison to the 599, so the move to the 812SF was more than welcome. It's far more natural to drive and more confidence inspiring, for me at least. The only downside I can think of is that you have to stick the front out so far at junctions. But, it's so beautiful to look at. I can't wait until the GTS arrives... only nine months to wait.

Was lucky on F12 got it at peak COVID panic and sold in the nice April weather.....

Look at prices of 812 in US and other markets they took a huge dive in UK

Too many got them to get on the list for next special. I won’t play that game.

I got an 991.2 GT3 in Nov sold in March and made decent profit. It’s just supply and demand the most basic economic theory.

I don’t buy to make money trust me I had 2 Mclarens

I’m interested in an f12 or an 812, I’ve always preferred the looks of the f12 but there is slightly more leg room in the 812.

There is a stunning 812 at dick Lovett Swindon which had such presence (though I think it was sold) . If I hadn’t just ordered my Huracan I would have probably looked in to buying one

Down to 5 812s in the Dealer network at present and decent new stock seems to disappear in days.

Actually, the 2 JCT cars have been sold for weeks, but they leave them on the site to try and stoke io some interest.... so that leaves 3 physical cars for sale.
I contacted all of the dealers with exactly what I was after and had them make their buyers aware. The best 812’s are being sold before they are even advertised. I offered on one unadvertised car a couple of weeks back an hour after getting a call from the dealership saying it was coming in. By the time I’d thought about it for an hour and called back, it had already sold for full asking. The market is madness at present!

Funny coincidence is that i phoned JCT Leeds about the Rosso Fueco 812 only yesterday. As you say it was sold in April and the sales guy said if it was for sale today they'd be asking £250k rather than the £240K it was up for. DL have sold a few 812s last Friday and Saturday. I'm now going to wait until Autumn to allow things to cool down rather han rush into buying one not exactly to my preferred spec/colour.

I bought mine about two and half months ago - and just in time it would seem!

There is something about the 812 - beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but to my eyes its it's a magnificent car. I love it. Oh and the engine...

That colour really suits the 812 IMO. I had a test drive in a 812SF last Wednesday and i thought it was by far the best and most exciting car i've ever driven.
How are you finding yours.? Has it surpassed your expectations.?

For me it’s amazing. A true event. Nothing else on the market I would have over it currently except a GTS.

Its the best car ever made IMHO. The sheer drama in driving it is on a completely different level to all other cars. A NA 6.5L V12 producing 800HP and revs to 9K in 2021 is mind boggling.
One caveat is it should only be sold to competent drivers as it's so hyper reactive to all inputs especially steering and throttle response.
You had the bargain of the century as they've gone up at least £10k since you bought yours in April.

This reading is getting me very excited as mine is being delivered up north from DL Ferrari on the 24th. Almost shed a tear when my 488 Spider went, but the excitement is defiantly building now. Only problem I had was getting the thing insured; neither Admiral, NFU or Aviva would touch it. Locktons sorted in the end. Agree with Taffy’s comments; though it was the tramlining that almost caught me out with those super wide from tyres. Putting MPS4s straight on and hoping this may help a little?

DL is my dealer and great to deal with IME. What colour is yours BTW as they've sold so many in the last month i can't keep track. Interesting to hear your thoughts on the differences between the two sets of tyres when you get a chance.
The 812SF will go down in history as one of Ferrari's greatest ever cars IMO especially with the onset of hybrids etc.

Spent some more quality time in the 812 recently, half a day on a deserted Isle of Lewis. Concur with comments above that it is simply one of the greatest, most accomplished cars with no weak points.

Corrects all of the F12 shortcomings, makes it seem like a work in progress. The turn in and zero weight management is incredible for a car of its size and weight and the damping has moved on so much that it feels so natural and car-like even pottering along at 30mph on Hebridiean single track. Mastering and metering out all that power on twisty roads … it’s an amazing experience that focuses the mind and calls upon all your skillsets.

I could literally drive one for days on end, no matter what the road. It’s so enjoyable and complete. I am not even sure what rival car out there is as fully realised ? The chassis, damping and dynamics of my F8 are better again by a smidge but then as brilliant as the Pista engine is, it doesn’t have that V12. And if you go backwards, and refrain from being bamboozled by residuals, folklore and perceived halos, then it is far more special to drive than most of the so-called ‘specials’.

Grigio Titanio, with diamond cut tdf wheel. Just wanted to get away from red with this car and not really a fan of black wheels, although obviously a lot of people like them. One owner Atelier car with £345k list. Although prices have firmed recently, can’t help but feel these lightly used cars are good value in the uk (prices seem much firmer elsewhere in the world). Probably wishful thinking and I’ll still take a bath!
Going to get the car with the Pzero on, but already ordered in the PS4’s to fit 10 days later; hope it’s not a waste of £1,300 but struggle to get heat into the tyres this far north!

I certainly got it at the right time. Especially as I am 1st owner and it’s 21 reg. I won’t share the price I paid because my dealer asked me not to, but now I have it I would pay 250 and be very happy.

They are still strong money in US and Europe.

As close to a keeper as I have had but said that before 😀

One day soon these machines won’t exist. Get one before that happens you won’t regret it
