Just remembered I've discovered the best technique to put fuel in my 812 after some experimentation at my local petrol station. On mine at least the fuel pump nozzle was always clicking off until I made sure it was inserted all the way in until it hits a stop. It then allowed fuel to be pumped at full flow without clicking off once.

Yes since I will miss the decent weather I might look into another set of wheels with winters to try and get as much use as possible out of the car later in the year.

Just put a deposit down on an 812 and picking it up end September. Can’t wait! Also went for a Rosso Fuoco car.

I have a question regarding tyres. I assume those with 812’s are mostly running on the Pirellis. Has anyone switched to Michelin? As I don’t collect the car until late Sep I am wondering if Michelin’s are better suited up in Scotland.
Great colour for a 812 and cost over £17k when new. I'm debating what tyres to fit on mine sometime end October when my annual service is due. Michelin MP4S K1 are firm favourites ATM but might put some winters on instead.
Just reminded of something Taffy! Completely forget that I asked about winters from the dealer when I picked the 12 up and they said they had some “big standard” wheels off an FF or something that were basically laying about and they could put winter tyres on them for me and do a deal ! Sottozero things (I think).

Sounds a good idea to have a separate set of rims with winter tyres rather than swap tyres on and off a single set. You obviously need somewhere to store them but switching between summer and winter is comparatively a breeze.

Just got back from Silverstone trackday with the 812 on the GP circuit. In a word INCREDIBLE. Pretty nimble in the tighter turns for a “heavy” car, very well balanced in the faster ones. Absolutely smashes pretty much everything on the straights. I already liked the 812, now it’s on a whole different level.

Just to give another view....

I loved my 812 SF, great car....but I absolutley adore my 812 GTS.
It's so much more than an SF with the roof removed, it feels like a different car.

Odd thing to say but I promise it's true.

I don’t have £200k spare - minor point.
Second minor point is I’ve only just got the wife on side with the F12. I maybe stupid, but even I know when not to push my luck (too much) with the financial director…ish…

Since we’re talking about 812 configurations, here’s mine on the dealer monitor during the session with the atelier…

That's a pretty stunning GTS and close to how I'd configure one. These triple layer Rossos make Ferraris even more special IMO even though I'm slightly biased.biggrin

Yes, I think yours in Rosso Fuoco, this is Rosso Maranello which is a bit darker. I first saw Rosso Fuoco at the museum in Modena on this SP1. Pretty special…

Is there much difference between rosso fuoco and maranello then other than I know RF is triple layer ? The rosso micalizato (badly spelled) looks very similar but haven't seen them on chat next to each other.
