lovely interior
what's the story behind the scary tyre ?
Sorry, it was just a picture of the old tyres. They looked ok in terms of tread depth, they were dated 2015. Rubber was starting to perish and split. I hadn't noticed this until they came off. Equally I didn't examine them closely as I tend to always put on new tyres on my cars and with the age of them they were coming off. what's the story behind the scary tyre ?

i remember this car (assuming it's the same!) sat with Safwat cars for quite some time before it vanished and then was on CC.
no idea why as i think the spec and colour combo were just perfect.
Enjoy in good health! Please keep us updated on your ownership journey,

Thanks for posting the link. I didn't have that so it's nice to see and have on file.
I flew from Glasgow to Stansted and took a taxi to Safwat cars to collect the car, they had it there in storage. Enjoyable drive home and a good way to start to get a feel for the car.
Taken on the A66 heading across country.
It is a lovely place to sit, the interior is warm and I think it suits the nature of the car as a GT.
Thanks

That’s a beauty you have there.
As for the warranty, don’t bother. Very little goes wrong with the F12 and the things which do (leaky gaskets and seals) aren’t covered by the warranty. The only thing which the warranty is good for is a DCT sensor failure and that can be fixed for c.£7k which is less than 2 years’ warranty. So the question you have to ask yourself is ‘do you feel lucky?’

re warranty: I had the same dilemma earlier this year. power warranty came to an end, and as said above the extended warranty did not really cover my main concern with the car: gearbox seals.
I know at some point that the box will need attention, I have located a workshop that has knowledge of Ferrari DCT rebuilds. so decided to go without.
the company I know of is called DCTScuderia. is this the same that ANOpax is thinking of?
Thanks for the details of DCTscuderia, pancholi. I was referring more to the cost of sensor replacement at Ferrari franchised dealers who are trained to rebuild the gearboxes.
I’m also aware that shaft seals can fail on the DCT and that’s also a rebuild job but independents are taking a lead on this as the Ferrari solution is gearbox replacement so it’s good to know that DCTscuderia exists.

Thanks for the feedback. I have the car going into for a service on Monday and will have a full discussion around the options open to me. I have a few older cars (Porsche) and have always managed to avoid huge bills. I guess the F12 is a different animal so will need to give it real consideration.
Issues for me so far, there is a clunk from the rear offside over a strong camber or bumps at low speed. When the car was on the ramp getting the geometry set they had a proper look at the suspension and all looked good, no worn joints or obvious issues.
Leaking from the boot when the lid is lifted, seems its a common issue and there is a fix on Ferrari chat. It appears that water gets in from the high brake light.
All good fun.

Re water coming into rear hatch - 2 sources - high level break light and Ferrari badge. Mine had problems at both sites but now fixed. It’s a well known issue so any knowledgeable outfit should be able to sort it!
I’m 2 months into owning mine. It’s a phenomenal piece of kit. Love the split personality of the car. Quiet and comfy when needed. Certified mentalist when needed. Never owned a car with such distinct and different characters. And that V12 engine. OMG. What a masterpiece. And let’s not forget - the last Pininfarina designed Ferrari, and in my opinion, one of their finest ever efforts. A true timeless classic.
