In other news, was dry so fired up the F12 to give it a short go yesterday but couldn't get the tyres over 12 degrees and even being very gentle with the accelerator was breaking traction in 5th gear! Still lovely to drive even super gently though.

On another note, what do others do re fuel in these cars in the winter months? I'm slightly regretting brimming the tank in December when the weather was still not cold as it doesn't seem likely I'll get through the tank before spring. I only use v power in it so it's only e5 but unsure how quickly this stuff breaks down.
I filled up and then drove it every day just like any normal car. I also managed not to break traction in any gear on most days inc 5am starts in Dec and Jan.
It’s just a car, not your virgin daughter. Drive the thing. Treat it like your old Fiesta, it does wonders for demystifying the whole blah blah. It won’t break, it won’t rust before your eyes.
Go on, drive it to work this week when it’s allegedly going to be freezing or semi snowing. Dare you smile

Good for the car as well, none seem to like being stood round. Do you run STD tyre pressures or drop them a little?

Good man! That’s the spirit DeejRC. It’s exactly what I did with my 550 Maranello. It was my only car for 4 years, drove it all year round, what an absolute joy. I count myself so lucky to have been able to do that. And the car didn’t miss a beat, other than a seized handbrake which left me stranded in the car park one summer’s day at Woburn Golf Club. Not the end of the world! smile

Thanks for the suggestions, no real interest in driving it into London in st weather. Did it a bunch with the Roma and found it not particularly enjoyable which somewhat defeats the purpose imo. Also have the EV for congestion charge exemption for the next couple of years and cheap motoring in general for when I don't find it fun.

Great thing about the F12 is that you don’t have to do many miles to run the petrol tank down! Coming up to 1 year of ownership on mine and I try to take it out every 2 weeks at least even if a round trip to the local supermarket. I’ll try not to do it if weather is rubbish but prefer to take it out and use it to keep everything moving and avoid issues down the line.

Regarding the comments on price, I bought mine for £157 a year ago with 19,000 miles on, perfect spec for me… I’ve put 1000/1500 miles and on it I don’t see one with similar miles with the spec I want for any cheaper?? It’s not like there’s a lot to choose from, find the one you want for the price you think is fair and enjoy it. Sure I’ll get a whopping bill on it but cheaper than the depreciation on a Range Rover at £20k pa or a Taycan turbo s at £40k pa.

Very good point! I do generally try to get it out at least once a fortnight and do an occasional supermarket run via the A3 when the weather is good just to give it a blast and clear cobwebs.

Agree, but for me it’s last Pininfarina design, hydraulic steering, and pure RWD no rear wheel steer interference. However, on GPF, 2018 2019 812 SF came without GPF too.. F12 just gets better looking as time goes by, 812 still looks awkward and is clearly not a Pininfarina design. But it’s eye of beholder when it comes to looks, lucky to own either.
I couldn't agree with you more Maura, great design just gets better and better as the F12 has from every angle. I bought my F12 just as first lockdown was ending as a stopgap while looking out for a Speciale, I fell head over heals almost straight away and even after 3 1/2 years the looks, sound, and interior still takes my breath away. I have in the past walked up to one of my cars and something doesn't look right will put me off and not long after she gets sold, my Murci and F12 just feel like the first day. There really isn't anything else within £100k I would swap for the F12

I’m a serial lurker on this thread, and I could NEVER afford an F12, or at least get my head round having a car worth that much, but I am a petrol head (RC30, ‘69 Mach 1 and CX GTI Turbo) and I can’t shake the thought that the F12 is some kind of epic final glorious insane wonderful beautiful hurrah!
Had a good look at one last month in the flesh at the Duke of London meeting. Not actually sure I’d want to own a car worth that much but my word, what a thing! The shape, the noise, the revs, the really quite bonkers, wayward tendencies……Well done to all those on here who own one.

well clearly it is… last 8 weeks Dick Lovett sold 5, Sytner Egham sold 3, Sytner Glasgow sold 2 and Sytner Birmingham sold 1..THj jr sold 1, 812 replacement cost is known to all dealers now and public release is 4 weeks away, so seems penny has dropped on value of F12, and maybe a bit of jockeying for New V12 slot..

This nice looking F12 ended tonight on Collecting Cars. It got to about £147,000 at the end. Now it’s vanished from their ‘sold’ list.

Think that means it didn’t meet reserve price and did not sell. Not surprising as dealer wants £169k for it.. will probably get that next month after Miami GP when the 812 Replacement is released and the exorbitant price is known to the public..

So that’s £154k.. probably about right today, 2 services outside main dealer, due a service in June and no 2 years Ferrari Approved Warranty, and interior colour maybe not for everyone.. as above, wait a month and they will probably get the £169k they are advertising at..

There’s a stunning F12 up with JCT Ferrari Newcastle approved, with 2 year warranty for £155k. Looks a tremendous car in person.

Gosh
39,000 miles, that's pretty much end of life for an Italian car right? wink

[Seriously, I guess it's a combo of high mileage, an interior to individual taste, and wanting to sell promptly in a down market overall]

Interior is the reason not the mileage.. even at 110 I still couldn’t live with that Interior. Respect to the owner who specced it how he wanted and I’m sure it’s a sound mechanical car but damn that interior does not work at all..
