Nice road but then th A4 and M4 were full of traffic but it was nice while it lasted
More disappointing though is that the car has lost its bark. Race with ASR off is nearly the same as race off. I can feel the shifts are faster but the sound is muted and only opens up well after 6k revs. I was toggling gears at constant speed with race on and off and saw no difference
Not sure what happened but it probably needs to go back to be looked at
Was thinking of a track day on Thursday but that idea probably needs to be canned frown
Anyone had similar issues ?
Bet one of your coils is on its way out.
How many are there?

Thanks. What is the linkage between coil packs going and the exhaust valves not opening?

Certainly does not feel like its misfiring. Delivery is smooth.

If one coil is playing up intermittently, you will hardly notice it.

Wouldn't that have shown up during the service on the diagnostics from the main dealer? They also test drove it after. To me it seems like the bypass valve is not opening when its supposed to and opens up much later. I have a friend that has a Scud with the same issue. Seems intermittent, but his car is off to HR Owen this week for a service too so will be interesting to see what they say. Mine will hopefully be going back in the next couple of weeks.

You could unplug the valves easily and try it.

Mines just had a service also. I think it was doing it before the service. It seemed to get worse gradually. Will be interested to hear what your Scud mate has to say.

Just spoke with Colchester Ferrari. They said it could be many things including a rod, the diaphram, vacuum leaks etc etc.

Mine was sudden. It was all ok before the service. That's why I am suspecting something more electrical/ECU rather than mechanical which mayhave given some indication prior to not working.

Interesting discussion Around coil packs and misfire.
Mine had a service about 4 months ago including sending the ECUs to Maranello to be reflashed due to engine light.
Not missed a beat since, but very limited miles.
Last weekend, and could it just be a coincidence but seemed to me to be linked to rain and in particular when I flicked the wipers on for one single wipe, it developed a misfire.
Low speed, low throttle a beep, engine light misfire then fine again. Did it a dozen times until I stopped and turned off.
Restart and engine light on full time (again!) but haven't really tested since to see if misfire has gone.
Will take back to Meriden soon but pretty annoying as reckon it's done 300 miles since service and reflashing of ECUs.

Anything to do with coil packs? Noise and exhaust etc seemed fine in the 50 miles before this happened, and it was not raining when there were no problems.

Surely can't be linked to rain / wipers just a coincedence ?

Tyres!

Need to change my tyres as the rears are shot biggrin

I only use the car a few times a year for touring in Scotland, Wales or Europe. I'm not looking for a track tyre, but something real world.

I know nothing about tyres, so I would be very grateful for some advice on what to buy. This time we got caught in a heavy downpour and the car felt very skittish!

I assume tyre tech has moved on since the Strad was produced, so is there anything out there that improves on the cars handling and all weather ability?

I have Michelin Pilot Super Sports on mine. Great for road / wet weather driving. Not as good as the Cup 2's on track, but still pretty good. Next change I will go for the more recent Pilot Sport 4s. Just had them fitted on another car and very impressed. they are supposed to be just as good as the MPSS in the wet and almost as good as Cup2's on track.

I've got SS on my RS4 but only on the back. Need my PS3s to run out so I can change to PS4s as I hear they are brilliant.

Stradale has P zero Corsas which seem ok but I haven't really given them a proper work out.

I've put Cup 2s on my Noble and they are amazing on track. st when cold and especially on such a light car.

If you are a fair weather only driver I'd go Cup 2s!

I need tyres for my CS for a 2 week Euro tour next May.

My understanding is that:
Pilot Sport Cup 2 is a track tyre which is road legal.
Pilot Sport 4S is an extreme road tyre.

So I'm thinking for this trip (plus I do not do track days) the PS4S makes more sense?

Thoughts?

I have the Corsas on the Scud at the moment, but given a bad experience with Cup tyres they do make me a little nervous (road driving only and also in bad weather), so I think I will switch to the PS4 as well - have the on the FF and they seem to work well in all weathers - it is not like I drive at the limit of grip on the road
