Yes I think I’d rather have better wet weather capability on the Stelvio Pass over a little extra dry weather capability. Not as though I’m planning back out powerslides like the coach at the end of The Italian Job!

As we are talking tyres - which Winter tyres are recommended for the Scuderia - need to buy some and don't have the car/manual close to me at the moment. Getting snowy next week ....

Edit: and I am aware it is a CS thread, but I think there is no Scud thread (or at least can't remember one for a long time) - seems CS owners are more knowledgeable about stuff smile

Cheers

Ferrari are so useless .... there are no approved winter tyres for the Scud - so now I am paying insurance and finance charges on a car that I can't legally drive for the next 5 months.
As a side issue I think the Corsa is the only approved tyre, so I can't even switch to PS4S as "better all around use" summer tyre for my type of driving

rather annoyed at the moment (also with myself for not realizing this before buying one)

I've not been able to locate a set of Ferrari Approved Corsa!

If I fit non-Ferrari approved PS4S and crash, can insurance company riggle?

I need to look at the German Fahrzeugschein (but the car is in Munich and I am not), to see if it specifies a specific tyre ala Pirelli (or even worse P Corsa) or just a tyre size. If only a tyre size/load rating/speed rating etc, then my understanding is a tyre that fulfills those criteria is fine.... I will check with TÜV eventually too. The FF Fahrzeugschein only states generic tyre criteria, not a specific tyre (but the one of our Merc SL states Michelin plus size etc I believe).

For now I have accepted that it is probably better not to drive the car in winter anyway as I'd rather it not become "completely worthless/corrode into nothingness" while there is finance on it ...

Edit: I believe UK rules are a lot more lax than German, so you are likely fine i'd imagine

A sad(ish) day. Sold the CS this afternoon, fortunately to a lovely chap who is an enthusiast and who will get more time to enjoy it than me. Between the DD Cayenne GTS and recently added 458 Spider, I was using the CS less and less and when an generous offer came along, i decided to part with it.

A day of mixed emotions....

That must be a tough day for a car guy
Am sure the 458 will be able to ease the pain a little though

Know the feeling - was rather depressed when my 355 was taken away (my first ever Ferrari)

I dont know how I would feel selling one of my Ferraris. The day will come but I will be distraught for sure. I am too attached. if I had to sell, then the 355 would likely go which I've had from 2003 as the 308 is my first and forever keeper (had it 20yrs this year). So that would make the CS second in line.
I dread to think it ... I better stop writing or I will have nightmares tonight !

I regret selling the 328, but would love to buy a 308 if prices fall much lower. I bought the CS 18 months ago, and would like it to be with me until the day I go off to push up some daisies.

The new owner has been here 20 years or so, so it's staying for the foreseeable future. I also never thought I'd sell, and had I still been living in the UK (or somewhere where there are country lanes) I don't think I ever would. However, as said, I don't get a lot of time to myself these days and when the opportunity arises, it's more of a cruise about than a blast. So the 458 tends to be more suitable (gonna get flamed here)

Been looking at P Zero Corsa.

Ferrari approved is Corsa D (Directional?) on the front and Corsa K1L and K1R on the rear.

Apparently the tread pattern is different between front and rears. Is that normal/OK?

Cost is each Fronts £253 and Rears £338 inc fitting, VAT etc. So £1182.

If you can hold off, then get yourself to a Ferrari dealer track day (probably next year now) and pre order direct from Pirelli who are always there to support the event. You can get them for nearly half price. i was kicking myself as I did not pre-order and they did not have any CS tyres there and they cannot offer that deal outside of the track day as it undercuts the dealers.

Hey Jules, a sad day indeed. At least it's going to another car enthusiast and you have other cars to enjoy!

I run a CS registry since 2011 and it's very hard to find the cars in the Middle East. Sofar, I've managed to find 2 cars in Dubai (+ 1 in Bahrain, 1 in Qatar and 2 in Lebenon). Do you remember the chassis number of your car?

Nothing to do with the Middle East cars but 139671 is Registration HX54DZZ

just to fill in the extra detail.
