The "old" petrol is 4 weeks old but it is my suspicion that it may be the culprit for the lack of bark or difference between Race and normal.
When I picked the car up from service at DL last month I immediately filled the tank to drive back to London and in this drive the car was not working properly. The car went back last week and they found that everything works. I went there to drive it back again. After a few miles the tank was at 1/3rd so I filled up to 2/3rd and after that the car seemed to come alive more in race but it still has some fuel from the previous fill. I am hoping that if indeed it is the fuel causing this, I will deplete the tank and refill and hopefully get the full beans in race again.

Oh right. You're talking weeks old!
In which case I will look to do the same myself as I'm sure I have some fuel in there older than that. Haven't actually brimmed it in weeks.
How do you empty out the fuel without simply using the car?
Either way, think I need to run it to empty and refill with some Shell to the brim and see what happens.

Took the CS out a bit this morning for my fix. It really is quite edgy in these damp cold conditions and you have to be very careful with the right foot as it can suddenly kick the back out on the straights when it hits its stride at 4,500+ RPM, if there is uneven grip between the tyres and of course if you provoke it in the corners (which I did not)... can be quite scary !!!
In contrast I took the 355 back to back and the power delivery is so much smoother without the variable valve timing and with the ride being suppler and having more appropriate tyres, it was a much more enjoyable drive when pushing on a bit. I could get the exhaust to bark and use quite a lot more of the power and performance.
That's why I could not really part with either... both are so satisfying in so may different ways
P.S BTW The CS's bark was back on start up and it felt like it was opening up properly at 3,800 RPM + but on I cannot yet be sure that its all back to normal as I could not get my right foot anywhere close to the floor ... hopefully next trip out

That is why I love the 355 so much, I need another one, but really want a 355 Challenge .... which I can't afford. It is so annoying that The FF does everything I need, otherwise I could just sell it to buy a Challenge - alas then I would need to drive the Clio most of the time as the Challenge just could not do the job (and let's be honest the Clio can't do the FF's job either ... so I'd have to buy a boring car like a BMW). At least I don't have to worry about allocations, like the Porsche guys ......In contrast I took the 355 back to back and the power delivery is so much smoother without the variable valve timing and with the ride being suppler and having more appropriate tyres, it was a much more enjoyable drive when pushing on a bit. I don't know it but it is on the CS registry
http://challenge-stradale.com/137355.html
You could as Mike Law who runs the site for any info he may have.
Also the owner seems to have been on here with the name v8xdm but has not been active for a long time.
I think the previous owner to him is also on pistonheads by the name mpbcs

Wow, that's a bargain price compared with 18 months ago! RHD prices really have come off, whereas LHD on continent have not. Brexit?I would appreciate your thoughts please,

Is it me or does that exhaust back box need changing? Looks a bit rusty round the edges.
Price is definitely good vs last year. Probably would be asking £210k-£220 then
On a sound related note, I just bought myself a sound meter so that I can check how loud mine is and see if there is any hope of doing any track days this year. RMA has stopped doing the unsilenced ones at Donnington ;(

I ran mine up to temperature earlier today for probably the 1st time in 2-3 months.
Oh the noise.....
Me too last week. Just wanted to take it out of the carcoon and go for a blast but the roads down in Hampshire are so filthy it's just not worth it. Oh the noise.....
Question - starting it up and ticking over for 10 mins or so to get some heat through the car, is this a good thing to do? Different views on how good sitting at ticker over is.

Will probably take the Scud out later (& possibly do the Hindhead Tunnel run tomorrow) to give it an airing, but the CS will be staying put until the spring.Question - starting it up and ticking over for 10 mins or so to get some heat through the car, is this a good thing to do? Once you start it and the revs normalise after a minute or two, good to go, just keep it under 4k RPM until oil and engine temp are up to normal degrees. How long does that take? To get all the temps up must take about 25 minutes?!Tried to put some of those anti tyre flat spot things under the front today. Kept on sliding away when driving onto them. Gave up.

Depends on outside temp TBH. Mine is normally up to temp after about 4-5 miles.Tried to put some of those anti tyre flat spot things under the front today. Kept on sliding away when driving onto them. Gave up.

I've just bought an R53 Mini Cooper S JCW. Very different car I know.....but in handbook it says do not start up and let it sit at tick over to warm up. Unfortunately it doesn't say why.OK we have had this discussion before but has anyone got any definitive numbers of the noise db level of a CS at Donington.
I am told that race cars like 458 GT3's and 458 GTC's are less than 98bb drive by.
I am reluctant to book a track day and be sent home or to have to lift off at the sensors so if anyone has any ballpark drive by numbers that would be very useful.
