Saw this beauty at an independent garage and found out a bit about it's history. Here's a test, does anyone know what it is?

I'd say a 225S Vignale Berlinetta.

Or even a 212S Vignale Berlinetta

Isn't there a rather distinct feature missing to make it a 212?

You are all close, but not quite there. A bit later than the 166 and not Vignale.

225S would be my guess... so I'm stumped.

ETA - it's not a 250 engined special / prototype is it?

It is a 1951 Ferrari 195 with Ghia Suisse coachwork (perhaps Ghia-Aigle but it did have a Ghia Suisse badge, so probably the same thing as Ghia-agile were the Swiss subsidiary.
The car was a bit dusty but the lines were just exquisite. The guy at the garage told me it was unique - a true one-off and came over to Aus from USA in boxes 5-10 yrs ago. I could have looked at it for hours. From every angle it was captivating.

Then I got in my Subaru Outback and drove home frown

Just found this online. None of the cars have those 3 intakes on the front wing, but otherwise vv similar.

I think it's a 1963, perhaps a 1964. I don't think those lights carried on into '65 but you are deffo right on the windows smile

Mate those lights ran on and into the bay bus production until crossover in 73 and were included on the split until 67 when they stopped making the split. But you knew that.

Yes mate it's mine. Volksworld feature back in 2001, won best type 2 at a few shows etc. All original, even has the carb limiter from Wolfsburg still fitted! As stated in the write up, it's my "never sell". It's been garaged its whole life and as such has zero rust, pretty rare for a UK bus.
