You've really got the 80s and 90s covered haven't you?! thumbup

Interesting comment about the torque in the 348 vs 355. One of the only driving gripes I had with my 355 was that with a Capristo on it, if I tried to accelerate at A-road/motorway speeds in 5th or 6th, basically the valve would open, there'd be mega noise and I'd start to overtake the van next to me at walking pace looking rather silly hehe In the end I'd just always change down to fourth so that I could either

a) overtake in a reasonable amount of time without going into F1 noise mode
b) get the F1 noise but actually overtake in a manner commensurate with the racket I was making biggrin

That's funny!
I have got the impression that the 355 needs to be revved harder whereas the 348 picks up from 3000rpm onwards.

OP - I wouldn't worry about the villagers opinions - I live in a small Worcester village with an old Italian in the garage ( and I don't mean Sophia Lauren) and I don't think most of them know or care to be honest

It will be a talking point so just enjoy good sir

Finally got the car, a 348TS. Was trying my hardest to find a good car that wasn't RED. However in the end the best car I could find was a red 'n'.

Did need a little bit of work to some corrosion that was starting to show on the sills. Took it to Tim at Walkersport straight from picking it up and a water leak developed. Combination of heater hoses and the heater motor leaking. The garage it came from have put a 3 month warranty on the car and at first they started to bulk about the cost..... typical. Anyway they have coughed up, so that got sorted. Picked the car up last Thursday and took her for a quick spin on Monday. So three drives to date and a permanent 'stupid' grin on my face the whole time. I just LOVE it, even at 25mph... In fact one night I just sat in the car in the garage - confession!
Got a nice new car cover which came yesterday and as I was putting it on noticed a little pool or water with a blue tinge. Fortunately its nothing to do with engine/heater water leak, its coming from the washer bottle reservoir. Have spoken to local Ferrari garage and next job is to whip it in their, it just be the grommet from the washer motor.
Guess this is the problem with rubber seals etc on a 20 year old car that has only done 20,000 miles.
Happy days

Congrats on your new(old) car fangio. It's a case of remembering it is 20+years old, and bits like this will crop up, but it's generally simple mechanics. None of this plug in obd to diagnose....I've had mine since last September and still smile on startup. Enjoy thumbup

Congrats!

Washer bottle is easy to remove (wont quite fit through the hole in the carpet, but its easy to lift that up) , and if yours like mine, plenty of slack on the hose so you can lift it out and sort the pipe.
Electrics to the pump doesn't have as much slack, but the plug only goes on one way, so easy to figure out to how to replug. (its like a T-shape)
If the bottle's empty now I'd leave it that way until you get time to sort, because the "puddle" you describe will be flowing past the headlight lift motor (possibly) and air-con electrics (more than likely)

Enjoy your car. I love mine!

Hi Guys
Here are a few pics.
Couple of questions:
1) The car allegedly has a new battery. Used the car on Monday 21st, stood in garage since. Went to use today and battery was flat - any thought?
2) Started in on jump leads, went out for a drive and noticed all the heater controls and the clock were dead. Can't find the fuse that controls these in the manual and why would it have blown - any thoughts?
Cheers

FWIW both my old 355 and current 550 will kill a battery, new or not, in a few weeks stood idle. As a result I always disconnect the battery every time I leave the car after a trip out unless I know for certain I'll be driving it in the next few days

Isolate battery. Its one option, but you are best using a battery conditione if you've power. Issues with fuses and electrics...welcome to ferrari...in seriousness. More than one fuse box.check CS. Many a thread on fixing them.
Lovely pics.

If the whole aircon unit including clock is not working its most probably the fuse in the front trunk located under the carpet between the brake master cylinder and the air intake box (its just by the wiper motor).

The fuse has a nasty habit of melting!!! (well known issue). I replaced mine with a "breaker" type from Demon Tweeks.

To access it just undo the screws holding the metal trim surrounding the air intake box plus enough screws in the area holding the carpet down (whole carpet doesnt need to come out thankfully). You'll also need to pull enough of the rubber trim up so the carpet comes free.

See below for pics or contact meon CS if still stuck
