Hi slippydiff
It's worth contacting all of the known Ferrari independents.
A lot of them will know of cars that are potentially for sale or coming soon. I found my GT3 RS a few months ago without it coming to the market, and I pick up my fiberglass car in the next couple of weeks. Neither were advertised.

Good luck

A standard 308 GTB carb or QV would be more closely matched with the likes of a 3.2 Carrera CS.

Drive one first. I'd say they are more like SCs and standard 3.2s. About the same performance.

However, a 308 will tend to keep in a straight line. Couldn't resist checking some of my old video footage. Within seconds I had an RS and an RSR broadside in front of me and if I'd had a little more time a lovely 993GT2 just before it was rearranged.

Enjoy:

I've owned my 1980 US GTSi for over 10 years now and found it to be an extremely usable car. Parts and labour are very reasonable and indeed they are an excellent DIY Ferrari as they are now pretty standard in the mechanical stakes.
I'm in the process of giving it a new coat of paint due to a few scratches appearing through use and have taken the opportunity to clean everything up. I'm considering selling it once all the works done as I've been offered something else.
It comes with £50K's worth of bills! It actually was originally owned by Edward J De-Bartello JNR who owned the San Francisco 49ers.

Snap, on all counts.

Not selling mine, though.

It's a peach. I drove it at Donington last year. So well setup. It was also featured in Evo a couple of months back.

Racing against it makes you smile; the sound and smell; Bliss. Think I have a few food shots of it on YouTube from Spa, Snetterton and Oulton.

I agree ! Even getting passed by that Daytona is a pleasure - I think it was Oliver who overtook me in it at Snett a few years back.

PS. the classic water-cooled ones are less prone to spinning, and can toast 360 C's - enjoy smile

Good man!!!

Just out of interest. How did you find the car as I keep and eye on whats out there still out of habit (was looking for 2 years before buying mine in December). Haven't seen yours advertised anywhere.

Hi Jonty355
I have been looking for a couple of cars which are hard to find good ones of. With the 308 I contacted all of the dealers (independents) who specialize in ferrari's saying what I was looking for. Out of 6 contacted 3 replied, and Foskers contacted me a few months ago saying they had just taken this car in.

Most dealers know of cars that are potentially for sale or under the radar. I guess just right place at the right time.

Can't wait to get my hands on it now :-)

Yeah you definitely did well getting that then!

They're such a great car to own and drive. I bought mine to scratch the 308 itch and then sell in a couple of years after the itch had been scratched as I already have a 355 spider. But now I'm not so sure I'll be able to part with it and the 355 may go... although the next time I drive the 355 I might change my mind again!
