You say that but Graypaul have just had a snooty moment with me over service history.

My 355 has been serviced every single year of her life. Everything done on the nail. Belts every three years.

Because the same independent has looked after the car since 2007 they said 'difficult with a non main dealer history for a main dealer to sell'.

It has the most complete history of any 355 I ever looked at!

So, despite agreeing with you, maybe you are, rather wierdly, wrong.
Which is why I have my modern Ferraris serviced by a main dealer. And I have to say that Carrs are cheaper than the 2 indies nearest to me! No-brainer!

Yup ,that's a whole new debate Dealer (me) Vs Indy you I assume ?
A set of timely dealer stamps will Allways trump "Indys " I,am afraid .

Despite the fact that @ the dealer some 19 y old fresh "YTS "type might be doing it after returning from Marenelo , with zilch experiance .
Dealer x threaded the sump plug on mine -had to retap it .But I got the important stamp that year .

While @ the ferrari world highly respected 40 y experianced "Indy " goes far beyond the spec and uses his vast experience to actually do a better job .Agree .

The Market as you have found out is extremely sensitive to how many and by who as stamped your book .

Also Ferrari are v strick on stock and have a tight grip on the brand .
For example the show rooms in the Uk have a uniform layout ,attention to details ,the books and pictures in the punter waiting area are all the same, even the layout of the loose books on the coffee table are not randomly placed ,all the 17 dealers follow orders !

So I guess P-ex histories have to be full Ferrari for those in the show room .
That's why they can,t really officially take yours in .
They will have to move it on through the specialist trade ,and it's value will reflect that .

Tell that to the person who asks you why there's a huge gulf in its service history when you come to sell it...these holes are just the sort of place to hide a mileage correction. Not, of course that I'm suggesting you'd be one of those people, but, then, I'm a very trusting person smile
Good point --- while @ the dealer they plug in and via telemetry send /down load stuff from the factory .update -upload upgrades etc - .
"Indys " can not do this plug it in with the factory . They can and do "sell" to the punter they ave bought latest SD 3 diagnostic ,but it's a stand alone device sat on there shop floor ,not connected to Marenello , or any other network .

Mileage is worth £1000, £10's of £1000 in the used F market ----so go figure !

So if it's had it's life serviced in the dealer net work ,Marenello has all the data ,
Inc Mileage .

The Ferrari world is mad. Mileage mad, finickity detail mad, and in this instance quality of history insane.
Totally agree .
"They " factory have a tight grip on the brand especially new modals
Take the 7 y free service package on all new .
Sounds great -
1st is pre paid by the 1st punter and subsiquently transferable .Just added on to list ,

Secondly and more importantly for them it keeps the car in the dealer network further shutting out "an other "- Indy - ? - ) service route .

So,s who's gonna take a F for service 8 to an Indy ?

A mad man ?
Ps 430' onward have cam chains not belts .360 was last belted V8 .

gezzzzzz the annual mot carries the recorded mileage , also I pitch my cars at the cheaper private end of valution when selling on and the person can view / inspect before buying as the asking price would reflect the missing annual service , when selling private the buyer is always after kicking the price down except on a inflated up market . BTW when I I sold my series one testarossa on ebay which I own for 11 years only having one belt change during that time the buyer from OZ just sent an UK expert who inspectioned it and paid the full asking price as the market over there was on the up at the time I reckon its only the UK market which gets hooked up on non lower end classic Ferrari service history ? ive owned 8 ferrari +2 lambo cars never lost a penny yet on re-sale except a countach which was down to the unloved market of that model at the time (1999) back to the original thread the 360 is not the best to park ££££££ as its not a classic yet, more of a good value user car in the Ferrari world ?

Mass production comments v the 360 and not the earlier V8 cars do make me smile.......A whole 16300 360's globally excluding CS's versus 12,100 308's, 7500 328's, 8500 348's ( launched after the 1990 bubble burst amongst other things) and 11200 355's......

50% more of a relatiively small number but not exactly mass production unless compared to the Ferrari V12 numbers......Aircooled Porkers seem to have done Ok recently.

It's about supply and demand. Two years ago there were barely any cars on the market, now there are plenty of all tipos. It'll reach a new equilibrium as I suspect, via a gentle fall back and not a crash.

The 360 will have its day but don't buy as an investment as any running costs will far outweigh any gain.
