They are fabulous cars, I always wanted one since seeing the new black one the farmer up the road had when I was about 6 years old. I can remember tracing the shape from my dads Observers book of Automobiles to transfer onto my school jotters in Primary school smile
Drove mine from Camberley back to Scotland when purchased and couldn't believe how great it was to drive. Amazing to think of people driving around in Austin 1100's and Vauxhall Viva's in the early 70's, just felt so ahead of its time. Mine now lives on Majorca as part of a Classic hire fleet, might even have it back for 2 or 3 days the next time I'm there on holiday smile

I don't know who that is, but judging by the picture he's a racing driver , which means I don't care who he is anyway. smile

Nice coat, mate...

I suspect the main reason Regazzoni used one as his daily for a while was because he got it supplied to him by Ferrari whilst he was racing for them, rather than him specifically ordering/buying one.

Don't worry about it, I'm pretty sure Regazzoni wouldn't have given a shcensoredt who you are either! wink

He was Niki Lauda's team mate for a while, not that it matters now wink There's a scene in 'Rush' with Regazzoni driving Lauda to a party in his GT4, although they used a red one in the film - it looks and sounds rather good!

As does this one...

I had a really close look a beautiful LHD one at the NEC last year, it was pale metallic blue with a dark blue interior which made a nice change from the more usual red and cream. I was taken aback at how much space there was inside but also how compact the overall footprint was. A wonderful piece of industrial design.

Here's another prototype,at the Ferruccio Lamborghini museum.

As already said Ferruccio rejected this for his Urracco and Enzo took it for his 308GT4 Dino.

Thankfully saved from the 'graveyard' at the back of the factory at (I think) Patrick Mimran's instistance, along with the Urraco 'Bob' and the Espada gullwing prototype.

Amazing to think they used to just shove this stuff into the far corners of the yard or chop it up/send it to the scrappy!

Incredible really...

If Ferruccio hadn't rejected the above Urraco concept I wonder if Pininfarina would have taken on the 308GT4 contract instead of Bertone and come up with something else entirely, before moving on to the 308GTB.... we'll never know of course, still I'm glad we have the Urraco and GT4 to admire now.

Take your pick...

Love mine. It has been very reliable with regular use and maintenance.

Compared to a modern car they are quite hard work, but it rewards you when you get it right with wonderful responses and noises.

The door handles are NOT shared with the Marina. They are shared with the Urraco and Fiat X1/9 however.

That is Carlos Reutemann, not Clay Regazzoni.

An excellent choice!

I've had mine for 17 years and for much of that time I've smiled quietly as they kept under the radar and in some cases even attracted snide comments from the unknowing... Those of us who know, understand that the slight differences in dimension from a GTB make them a beautiful handling car that excels in the twisties or on the track!

Of course they're not quite the same bargain now as they were when I got mine, but still not daft money. Lots of lovely little tweaks and upgrades to enhance the experience, or play it safe and stay standard.

Mine is now starting some historic rallying, having previously raced. Now having an engine rebuild; hopefully on the ferry for Le Mans Classic in 2 weeks...

Excellent cars. I was at petrol garage one morning and a total stranger climbed out of her Saab and complimented the design. She made particular comment on how cool the wing mirrors were.
The next week I researched and discovered Ferrari shared the same units with Lauda's 1976 F1 Ferrari. How many street cars have that lineage ?!

I ended up taking the Saab driver for supper the following Sunday. Transpires she was an architecht smile

Nothing sounds quite like a carbs Ferrari / Lamborghini. A real treat

Verde Pino FTW...

Also, my preference is for the 14-inch wide wheels that were an original option (as below). To my eyes, 16s throw off the balance in the design.

I was at Chewton Glenn recently and I heard a nice sounding car arrive, looked out and a cool bloke got out looking like a rock star, it was the owner of Forza288 Ferrari sales, had a chat and he seemed a nice bloke and very enthusiastic.

It was immaculate in Silver and just looked lovely.

A mate at School used to get picked up in one and his Dad went on to race it and win the series and still has the car.
