Thanks Voicey. I was underbidder and it looks like I might have dodged a bullet! This could have been expensive for me.

I saw that a blue 6,000 miles car sold for less than £101,000
The listing held some interesting details. It had previously been crashed/repaired and had been recently found to have a crack in the chassis. God knows what else was wrong and not listed. I was max £80k bid on it and only because I was going to tear it apart for a project.
It is always worth checking the online registries for these cars. The Challenge Stradale Register is pretty good and photos of the car (including the accident damage) are here: http://challenge-stradale.com/138791.html

Incidentally, it is worth noting that, when it was offered at Silverstone Auctions May 2016 sale, it was described as "...one of the very best examples available, being in superb condition...". No mention of any accident then. So, caveat emptor and at least the Collecting Cars listing did mention the turbulent history of the car.

It is very interesting that a crashed/repaired car, US spec, with known current issues still achieves same as a 46,000 km car with no known issues at the start of the thread!
Conclusion : putting miles on your car = crashing it in market value terms wink

I thought it looked pretty tasy so did some basic online due dilligence. Googling the VIN was rather revealing. edit: As alluded to above, the CC seller seemed very open about the history so this wasn't a dig at CC.

I also thought it might be worth a shot as a keeper at £80k.
