2008 Superleggera Register
Discussion
For anyone looking to buy, here's a top spec car: full interior carbon, race harnesses, roll cage, carbon ceramic brakes, front end PPF, Larini Clubsport exhaust & cats, decent Lambo service history - advertised at VVS.

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202310052...
It looks like there's no camera under the rear wing.
Looking at the date of registration and the spec, it's more than likely the car owned by clewsey back in 2015. Here's the link to his post half way down on page 18, with further information: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Wow, that was quick bearing in mind the general market conditions.
I think the pictures only went up yesterday, though the description was up last weekend, at that stage with some inaccuracies, e.g 1 prev owner.
Someone has possibly been waiting for a while, seen it for what appears to be a great car and either likes the grey or is prepared to put up with that.
Meanwhile the white and orange alternative SL1s remain advertised.

The buyer was already buying the orange car that VVS have for sale.......deal was nearly done.....then the grey car become available and he changed to that car, hence the orange car now being back available........I think the pictures only went up yesterday, though the description was up last weekend, at that stage with some inaccuracies, e.g 1 prev owner.

A 2008 (57 reg) Superleggera advertised on Autotrader:

With the 12 spoke wheels as previously pointed out by andrew at the top of page 22, this looks to be the same car as advertised at VVS last year.
The interior trim level and steering wheel with 12 o’clock marker are also the same.

Hi chaps,
I am looking to import an ex-UK Arancio Borealis SL from Hong Kong back into the UK, and see from the first post that the car is in fact under the plate DSL5.
Before I make an offer, I wonder if anyone has any known history of it when it was in the UK? I can see that it was made in 2007 and was imported in 2009 so spend a year or so in here
Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Well, after nearly 15 years of wanting one, the wait is over!
I managed to find an Arancio UK RHD car, owned by a PH'er for the last 17 years. I originally wanted to buy this 3 years ago but my 600LT took longer to sell and then life got in the way.
It's not the fastest, newest or most expensive car out there, but I've wanted one of these for nearly 15 years and now I have it! I'd wanted an Arancio car, but most straight UK RHD cars left these shores a long time ago. I nearly bought a few white/grey cars but was never really excited by them.
I'd taken a car sabattical for a few years and have had a tough time with the passing of my mom just over a year ago and then being diagnosed with Prostate Cancer this summer. Got to the point of thinking that life is too short, I need to get in the drivers seat of something exciting!

Many congratulations. Interesting to read that a Superleggera still remained your dream for 15 years. So many car related things have changed in that time. McLaren road cars weren't even available, EVs etc.
You've done really well to find a UK car in Arancio with one owner for 17 years. If it's a 2008 car that's surely one owner from new. If a 2007 car then it was, as you've mentioned, lucky not to have been exported as per several other Arancios. Either way one owner for 17 years who can provide it's history for that period of time is a big plus. Was it the privately advertised one up in Scotland about 3 years ago?
I too wanted Arancio. I do remember that it was at least 5 years before one was advertised which wasn't Cat C, an experience car, etc.
To still want a Superleggera after a 600LT is a surprise. That surely did everything quicker and more efficiently, as one would expect for a more modern alternative. How are you enjoying it so far?

After 7 continuous years of McLaren's I felt that they became so easy to drive. Don't get me wrong, I miss the doors, the top exit exhausts and the ballistic speed, but I just hankered after something different, something simpler, older, more character? I've always hankered after an SL, I had a decatted manual Gallardo with a Tubi exhaust years ago and nothing has ever matched that noise. I'll be looking to make some exhaust based changes soon too You've done really well to find a UK car in Arancio with one owner for 17 years. If it's a 2008 car that's surely one owner from new. The car had an owner for 6 months, which I think was Lamborghini and then the previous owner bought it and had it all this time. It's reassuring to know it hasn't had lots owners or been out of the country for a period of time.
I've already gone through a tank of fuel, which only got me 110 miles

There is a Kreisseig exhaust for roughly 3.3k on ebay if you're interested, I have been watching it and hoping I get the money (and courage) together to go for it. But I am sure it will be gone by then.

But on the subject of the car, man, what a beauty and in the right dress. The white and grey SLs never did it for me. Congratulations.
