I don't have a Lambo with E gear, but a similar system in an Aston Vanquish.

Can you go straight down to 2nd from 6th by pulling the paddle 4 times in quick succession in a E-gear car?

Never you mind said:
I've had this a few times. Is it a problem or is it just the e-gear being a bit stupid?
It happened to me twice. Once on the road when I was in a queue just approaching a roundabout and sitting in Neutral, foot on brake. Traffic ahead moved off, so I flick lever...nothing. Took foot off brake, reapplied, flicked lever, all good and pulled away.

The other time it happened was on a runway when hooning up the gears in Corsa flat out, I went to uphsift and it popped into Neutral...well that was fun! Slowed down a tad, flicked lever and reselected the gear I was in previously. Hasn’t misbehaved for ages since.

I had put it down to Italian Temperemant and nothing of significance, but interested if it is a sign of an issue? As I said, several thousand miles and many months have occurred since it last happened and nothing awry picked up at service time, when I always get Dealer to do a full inspection and health check on all systems.

The eGear is an incredibly engaging and fun gearbox and in Sport Mode (which is my default setting) the shifts up and down are great. Corsa is a bit too sharp for me for normal bimbling about though...

Good post here. So, question.... Was driving this car (2007 G egear) and is it ok to be in say 3rd gear, going maybe 40 mph (not fast, and rpm's not that high), with you foot on the gas, and while foot is still on gas, to downshift into 2nd? This was incredible and made the car take off like a bat out of hell. It felt great, and like the egear was doing it's job, it blipped the throttle automatically, seems to pause the gas for a split seconds and then took off like an afterburner! If you don't do this, it's hard to make it feel fast, but this was incredible. Just want to be sure you can do this?

Personally, I would lift off ever so slightly before downshifting then reapply loud peddle immediately after, like you would if doing same in a manual.

Doing shifts with your foot planted will wear the clutch slightly more, but as you say its fun as hell so dont stop for the sake of making your clutch last a little bit longer.

If you maintain throttle position and drop 2 gears totally not a problem as engine revs are matched by shift, and then floor it..... Pretty sure manual says change gear without lifting, and in sport mode faster changes actually reduce clutch wear

Wouldn't suggest mashing the loud peddle at same time of dropping 2 gears
