First post in a few years lol

Please be on the look out for my black gallardo spider being offered for sale for cheap money. Registration c17avg. Vin number zhwge22t9la04537.

X girlfriend has stolen the car on Sunday past. V5 is in her name and there's nothing I can do to stop the sale. Police can't do anything.

It's being dealt with legally and I'll have no problem recovering the monies I'm due on it . However if someone else were to purchase it it'll get very messy for everyone. Please if you come across this car let me know. I have the bill of sale from the previous owner for when I bought it.

Cheers!!!

Yes I have the bill of sale. It doesn't matter though as it's a civil matter. I've been through it all with the police already. I know I will be reimbursed for the loss I suffer, I just don't want it to get messy for the next party who thinks they are buying a cheap car and don't ask for the previous bill of sale. Cheers

Would like opinions on a private plate guys.
Mate just bought a black gallardo spider. Name is Craig. He's put his private plate on it which I'm trying to convince him Iis terrible on such a smart car. But maybe I just have different taste.

Thoughts on C17AVG on a gallardo?

and what mark out of 10 would you give it as far as smart plates go?

I'd go NO and 1 outa 10.
Thoughts appreciated just so I know I've not lost the plot! Lol!

If it is your car, you can prove ownership and someone has taken it without your consent, it makes it a criminal matter.

Unless there is more to it?

Of course it matters, the car is yours and she stole it, have you reported it stolen to the police?

Yeh Craig uses the car too. I've already sat with the police for 1 hour, the lawyers dealing with it. If it's bought when u were with your ex partner they can't get involved. Anyway that's not the point Im trying to make. I know exactly where I stand.
Just not wanting it to get messy with another party potentially getting involved and muddying the waters further. Trying to spread the word.
Cheers!

I've had plenty of Ex's but none that were strange or brave enough to try and steal any of my cars.

You must have done something to upset her ?

Obviously a sore point for the OP at the moment and can only assume if they were married then it's there's and not his and when she sells it half must go to the OP one way or the other when assets are divided.
OP when your ready could you please enlighten us all in detail as I am sure this could potentially effect many here.
I'm lucky maybe that only the daily A class is in her name and we are not married and as has been said ( and printed on the log book ) the log book V5 is not proof of ownership, I would be interested to hear the legal side on this one .... Thanks

Not married But purchased whilst girlfriend was still together 2 years ago.

For those who want to understand the law in terms of the police - they will do nothing if there is any question whatsoever that the car is 100pct yours.

The v5 is enough for them to not act it then becomes civil. It is registered at my house on the v5 but not my name.

Whether you have made every payment, paid the deposit, the insurance the servicing the maintanence, whether the proof of purchase receipt is in your name it is is irrelevant to the police.

It does however matter massively to the court and that's why I have no problems here pursuing the loss.

Cheers j

Why would you put a car like that in her name anyway ? Asking for trouble if you ask me, no doubt she will be going for half your house and pension plan too

I thought it was a reasonable buy at a £1 and the seller was a charming young lady with a big chip on her shoulder frown

why don't you re-register it in your name? DVLA will write to her at your address to give her a chance to dispute the change. If she doesn't respond they'll register it to you.
