Well I've eventually done it!! 997 TUrbo went yesterday! Deposit on gallardo! I know the turbo is far more capable but the gallardo was an itch I had to scratch! Already promised myself another turbo! Will let you know how I get on.
Well done matey, look forward to seeing it at clophill... Did you get an lp version?

No couldn't quite stretch that far as I've just bought another property, it's an e-gear spyder from hr Owens London.

Awesome... James/Steve/Rupesh will look after you.... Blag a drive in their huracan demo if you can and collect the car from the service centre.... You see a bug or two in there

It's James I've been dealing with...any suggestions for doing the deal, already put deposit down to get it transported to view, going tomorrow to finalize deal, no part ex sand no finance so I was hoping for a great deal?

Gutted!! Got to Owens and the car wasn't what I had been told! No lifting gear and only part service history! Start the hunt again! :-(

shame.... on an 08 car one missing stamp wouldn't bother me as long as the last service was the big '4' year one.... my first Gallardo wasn't serviced in the first 3 years (it had only done 890miles) and that was good enough for lambo Birmingham to resell so it didn't bother me when I bought.....

if black and lifting gear is a must...

I like the look of this....
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/l...

to tell if a car has lifting gear..... there are four buttons, two either side of the side window toggle on the centre console ahead of the gearstick or gearbox mode buttons...... the lifting gear button is the button closest to the driver..... if its blank, the car doesn't have lifting gear.... easy to see in most pics....

orange arrow..... if it is factory fit reversing camera, this button is not blank.... aftermarket cameras only come on when reversing, factory ones can be used to look back when driving.....

purple button..... if has a symbol on it, car has electric and heated seats....... notice my car has blank button, as the carbon fibre buckets are not heated.....

Yes I see what you say re the history but I have been warned by a few dealers not to buy one with part history as they would knock the price when coming to resale. Re lifting gear think it's a must for me as I have a pretty steep drive and would end up damaging it. Do u know much about the guys at chessington or their car? Seems quite good value. Also throw a spanner in here, I parked at Owens Maserati and they had just taken in a lovely grancabrio sport in white.... £79k and very tempting?

^ The Mazza is uglier, slower, a cheaper badge, turns fewer heads, and likely brutal depreciation. Not to mention the awful gaping-mouth frontend. Don't do it.

I came from a Maser and there is no comparison, you would regret not getting the G although the Maser is good at what it does and i think it is a great looking and sounding car.

My drive is also steep, very steep, and i never need to use the lifting gear unless there are two people in it and a boot full of ste.

Less important than a yearly stamp is a portfolio of invoices and paperwork to prove the car has had the right sequence ....

Minor, interim, minor, major repeated

.... If there is slippage of a few months between services on a low mileage car, and condition is good, this is what is paramount...servicing was meant to be 7500 miles or 1 year.... The time could easily be stretched to two years with low miles with modern long life oils

Congratulations. Did you consider an R8 Spyder?
One downside that you may have overlooked - you're going to have to change your user name.

to each their own, but...

personally, i'd never buy a lambo that had gone two years between servicing

and if i were then to sell such a car, i'd imagine that buyers being put off ( in what is already a tiny market ) plus buyers using this as a bargaining tool would far outweigh any cost saved

A good job mines been serviced twice this year already then!

Slightly disappointed to hear that James let you down, I bought my car from him and everything was exactly as described.

I'm with 70proof. The sequence is more important than the timing (within reason). A drift of a few months is neither here nor there on a relatively reliable car like the G.
