Whilst it makes a great noise! Firstly I assume it does the engine no harm as its open on the open road? Secondly where is the fuse? What else could it be other than the fuse? Thirdly whilst its still under warranty how much are they to replace? No message on the dash! Big smile on the face of every car in the traffic behind me!!

What year is the car?

It will do no harm to the engine what so ever, plus it could be a very simple fix of just reattaching a vacuum pipe.

Until you get it fixed, enjoy that sound!

The pipes are buried beneath the engine compartments trims

Ah! Had the lambda sensors checked a week ago! Is that the same area then?

There is an easy way to check the pipes if you dont mind getting down on the ground. If you go to the rear of the car and look where the rear of the gearbox is sticking out there is enough room on each side of opening in the bumper to look up and see the exhaust valves. You should see a rubber pipe leading to the valve, if its off the valve thats the problem!

Is there a lot to take off to get to it? I ask as I wanted to use it on Friday and don't want to burn anything out etc? I am assuming that its not causing any harm apart from a great noise? Cheers Jonny

You can use the car with no problems, alot of people block off the pipes and have the valves open all the time. You can get to the valves through the wheel arch liner or from under the vehicle.
