Why hasn't this sold?

Interesting, as they only account for about 10% I thought if only through being rare they'd be more prized.
Why would they be more prized? Its not like they were a special edition or something... every single Lambo owner had the chance to spec it with Manual and only 1 in 10 did so. Nobody wanted manual new, so that filters down into 2nd hand sales too.If its going to be used regularly then e-gear really is the way to go. If its a garage queen or a sunday morning drive only then maybe manual would be okay.

Manuals will definitely be valued over e-gear. A new Gallardo or any current model buyer is a totally different beast to the classic/collector. If they were not why would anybody have bought a 430 when new at the same price of an F40. If its going to be used regularly then e-gear really is the way to go. I had that exact conversation with my 10 year old at the time. He could not understand why I didn't want to buy a 430 and preferred the 'old' car.
Even today the buyer of an Aventador v a CarreraGT (not checked recently but probably close) is looking from a different perspective. There is no question which is the one to buy for driver excitement and future value, and it's not the Aventador. But look how many Aventadors there are. Clearly the new focused buyer prefers it. It's success will reduce its future appeal. Especially with the Huracan looking similar and likely to be built in huge numbers.

A gallardo isn't a collectors car or a classic, its mass produced and not quite that old yet is it. The only person buying a ropey 2nd hand poverty spec Gallardo is someone who can't afford the one they really want. And I say this from the point of view of having bought a 2nd hand Gallardo myself. Albeit the e-gear.KFC said:

Albeit the e-gear.I bought the Mrs an Aston DB9 3 years ago. I classed that as a newish purchase. Didn't really care that much about the spec as it was only going to be in the family for a short time (3 years in the end). However, if I was buying something for me to keep, it would most definitely be important to get exactly what I want, and manual would most definitely be important where the option exists.
As the collectors buy up the manuals, they become harder to obtain, and the price inflates, similar to the resin 308s discussed on another thread (where the e-gear v manual debate is replaced with resin v steel)

yeah, yeahright up there with the red 2wd ones that no-one wanted new will soon be worth a fortune because no-one wanted them new...

Lol, no more like nobody wanted those McLaren F1s when they were new so they didn't make them all.right up there with the red 2wd ones that no-one wanted new will soon be worth a fortune because no-one wanted them new...

Actually scratch that, it's a bloody Gallardo, but still think manuals will be treasured in general on the crossover cars.
Not sure about those frequently fire bombed PETs, however......
