Hi All
Seeing as it doesn't look like I'm going to get an allocation of a GT4, and the new R8 doesn't appeal just yet until they iron out the early car issues, I've reverted back to a plan I've had for a while for a Gallardo

Ideally, I'm after a manual LP560 Coupe, but I've not seen any come up for sale bar the one listed below ;

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/l...

This car's been for sale an awful long time, and something about things I'm sure I've seen before sets off alarm bells about the selling company (I seem to recall they were previously under a different name - Keighley trade centre)

Does anyone know what sort of split e-gear/manual LP cars had ?

Cheers in advance for your help and advice

That car was for sale at the same place in the summer of 2011 when I got my manual LP560. Think it had about 3,500 miles on it and was up for about £115-120k at the time.

If the car checks out from a Lamborghini specialist I don't think the dealer it comes form matters.

I'm inclined to agree, but a quick google search of Keighley trade centre pulls up some horrific stories of clocked cars, and badly done damage repairs, faked service docs

Apart from that car, does anyone know how many Manual LP cars there are about ?

Lamborghini Birmingham didn't supply any new LP560-4 models at all with a stick.

I only ever saw two in the flesh. A white car we sold a couple of times and a grey car, which is probably the same car as the one in question.

Dunno about the other guys, just my two 'penneth.

Not exactly a direct answer, but of the 14,022 Gallardos produced, apparently less than 300 were manual!

FWIW I love my prehistoric 'box and at present would only chop it in for a manual 550-2. But they're out of my league :-(

Such a shame about the car for sale at Motorhub, a car of that spec ought to have some investment potential. Right now buyers still pay more for the e-gear cars so the timing could be good to buy a manual. Mind you, it would take a good few years to be worth more than £90k and they aren''t cheap to maintain properly. But surely, one day, a manual LP560 has to be worth something? It''s a way more rare, interesting, and exciting car than a 997 GT3 and look what they''re making right now!

I really like the look of the car too but the horror stories from that dealer would put me off spending £9k, never mind £90k! It''s amazing how such places can survive with the internet but they have 25 Lambos for sale currently!

It would still be very interesting to know how many manual, right hand drive LP560s there are. Howmanyleft isn''t very helpful on this. It doesn''t really list any LP560s apart from Spyders.

Thirded. Craig is really knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I'm sure he can source you a car and it may not even be one publicly advertised

the value of some fezzas and porkers has just gone crazy right now..... agree with you a manual Gallardo would make sense as an investment.... but don't understand why 'lambos' bar say the countach, miura and sv are the only ones benefitting from this bull market right now.

the ferraris that have taken off are mainly fifteen years or more old

all the lambos from that period have similarly taken off

not just an age thing..... there certainly seem to be more 'celebrity Ferrari collectors' and this helps the rest else why would say a scud rise so much more than a superleggera based on ability alone.... and even 996 variants, the bd child being water cooled, has seen some gains.... is that again a hard core following, as well as guys like monkey bigging it up.

agreed, LP640 manual ought to have shot up since the Aventador went auto only, but they have remained fairly static on the rare occasion that one comes up for sale.

Would it be fair to say that the typical Lambo is less OCD than the typical Ferrari owner and is perhaps more interested in having fun than joining owners club concours events and the like? Gallardo mileages show that their owners like to enjoy their cars fully, garage queens are very rare.

I don't understand Scuderia prices though, even less 360 CS, the gearbox is already dated on the Scud but surely not to the point of having retro charm already?! Still, many see it as a cut price, depreciation-proof Speciale I suppose?

What's a bull market without Lambos? A bubble, that's what!

I think lambo collectors are also more discrete, and re Porsche, the influence of for example harris, who is on their payroll iirc, is likely to be massive..... we live in a hype sells society..... we actually should all be like GRB hyping up our lambo's rather than driving them!

hyping up cars and shoving them into peoples' faces just creates animosity : leave that for other brands !

Hmmmm..yes i've always considered Lambos to be retiring wall flowers...typifying their owners as withdrawn...shunning the spotlight types.....ahh uh
