I can't speak for the LP, but on my '05 car the upper grills are self-coloured moulded plastic, whilst the grills surrounding the exhaust tips are painted cast alloy (for reasons of heat!). I can't imagine that the later cars are different. Why would Lambo add the weight and expense? "Back to Black" or similar.
Congrats on the purchase edji, I do love a balloon white LP, it looks fantastic.
Here is a recent shot of my car currently. I still have to move the exhaust outlet and then add the LP quad tips.

Yes the early cars had plastic grills in the rear as you say, but trust me, I've had the LP rear grill hanging up in my garage for over a year now and just recently got round to swapping the LP parts over on to my 04 car. It is a cast alloy grill on the later cars. It's probably to add more rigidity to the rear being such a wide grill. Here is a recent shot of my car currently. That's me told! Is it attached in the same way (small, hex-head screws into captive nuts)? If so, then a matter of two minutes work to remove it. Strip, prime and repaint yourself or for a small fee at the paintshop of your choice....
haha, but yes, the grills are attached in the same way and a simple allen bolt removal will have it off for "back to blacking" or painting. Nice car OP, Congrats.
None LP cars sound amazing with a different exhaust. I was reading that lot of people are trying to get that sound from a LP car but unable to do so.
What should one look out for on a 2006 Spyder, if it was manual how is the clutch life? I have read about crack seals etc.

I drove an LP and a Pre-lp back to back (both spyders).
Pre-LP won because of the engine sound.

Only problem with the LP is that compared to the 5.0 engine, they sound very dull.
No matter what you do with the exhaust, they will never have the same scream.
In my experience quality on the pre LP cars is pretty damn good anyway.
Yes, Pre LP is one of the best sounding cars ever made. They say the Lexus LFA, the Carerra GT and the Pre LP 5.0 Gallardo. 04-08 cars are very SPECIAL and one of the last best sounding lambos! No matter what you do with the exhaust, they will never have the same scream.
