Hi folks,

Following a recent LP570 purchase I'm looking at potentially my next car for 2016. My current thoughts are the Huracan SL when it's available, or a well spec'd Aventador coupe.

The reason for asking the question is that I like cars that are a little more adorned with carbon and race seats etc. However the current Huracan interior just isn't for me and the digital dash doesn't float my boat. However, my thinking (man maths applied here) is that the gap between a new Huracan SL and a nearly new Aventador will be reasonable.

So, the Huracan SL should tick the boxes, but given the choice would an Aventador be the better option? Not based upon track capability but weekend/summer car fun factor.

I'm still mulling myself, but informed or general thoughts would be interesting.

Many thanks,

GoM

Highly doubt SL will be out in 2016, more likely 17-18 very different cars though so personal preference, huracan is a much better put together car, but not special in the same way as aventador. Trading usability, against drama really albeit SL does step up.

Huracan gearbox is also a million times better than Aventador if that floats your boat. Huracan race seats will also break you if they put them in the SL and you plan on using it regularly, very tight and hard, way worse than G SL for me.

Agreed, 2016 is probably a tad optimistic. I wasn't happy with the Huracan interior, just didn't seem special enough. Not sure if more carbon fibre was available as an option. However an SL should be more my cup of tea as it's not a daily driver.

I think I also need to get out in an Aventador to see how it feels. I love the looks but I have concerns regarding it's size, but hopefully I'll be proven wrong.

Loving the LP570 SL so far, can't wait for some decent weather to get to know the car better. Seem to have spent more time driving in heavy rain between Leeds and Manchester.

If anyone can provide an insight into Avebtador ownership that would be fantastic.

Thanks,

GoM

I had an Aventador and really enjoyed it. The obvious stand out points are the whole show pony side of things, great looking car and the noise and the cabins a nice place to be. From a driving point of view I never struggled with the size of the car on the move but it was a pain parking and finding spaces big enough. On the down side the gearbox is poor at low speeds very clunky sometimes jerky. I also had experience of the car changing gear of it's own accord while driving and a lot of niggly electric issues.
I would consider another but only if I planned to use it once in a blue moon.
The Huracan on the other hand has been a revelation. It's as quick as the Aventador and quicker cross country, easy to drive (still a pain to park) and apart from the doors most people mistake for an Aventador, which can't be a bad thing. My opinion is the interior in the right colour is the best of any supercar I've owned or driven. I'd agree the 2wd car will be a year or so away so try a 610/4. Comments about the car under steering are complete bull st. Yes it will but you have to be driving like an absolute hooligan for it to do so.
Try one they're great!

Pretty much agree on the above, and very similar experiences, only other thing of note is Aventador running costs around double that of G/H, if that makes any difference to you. Even fuel, etc, it just munches it.

Also Huracan rear visibility is v bad compared to G and even A, and the seats in it aren't my favourite, they are fine, not bad or anything, comfortable enough, just could be better.

Oh yea, they love a drink if economy matters then it's not for you. I reckon as little a 6-8 to the gallon, I hate to think on track! My first service was around 4k.
I've never found rear visibility an issue, I decided against glass panel on the back as I was advised the view was hindered by reflection of the engine in some lights. Visibility is as good as my 458 or aventador.

I am on the order list for a Huracan SL and the delivery its estimated for early 2018! There is no chance of an SL for 2016 with the 580-2 and Spyder deliveries just starting.

Thanks for the replies, certainly some food for thought. I think some time behind the wheel of an Aventador is required, and possibly another run in a Huracan.

If the Huracan SL isn't due until 2018 then I've got a bit of time to mull it over. But knowing me, I'll end up seeing an 'A' In just the right colours and go for that. However I'm pretty sure that either option certainly won't be a disappointment.

In the meantime, I will continue to hope/pray for some dry days over the winter period.

Thanks again.
