LP560's dropped below £100k

Limited supply Ferraris will hold or increase in value than most Lamborghinis. Simply far more people aspire to the brand, they want limited cars for their collections and Ferrari are good at managing the supply from day one.
I had a 360 Challenge Stradale when they came out which I loved for the noise. It was raw to the point of no stereo or carpets and I loved the carbon fibre, a common theme for me. I had it as a weekend toy and in reality it wasn't that quick but the handling was great. The disappointing thing was the looks, which were average at best and most people thought it was a stock 360.
However the values on these and similar Ferraris are now ridiculous. But there are plenty of people with the money to buy them as investments based on the appreciation of past models. This is much more so than Lamborghini other than a few existing iconic models.
I've had lots of 'special' cars over the years and many are worth probably twice what I bought them for at the time. The really flrickin annoying thing is that I sold them all before they appreciated to the levels they are now. The moral of the story, if I sell a decent car like my LP570 SL .... Then Sod's law says in a few years it will be worth st loads more. If I keep it, the prices will probably plummet, but what the heck. I buy cars to drive them for enjoyment.
Also, if you're driving a Lamborghini you'll be one of a select few wherever you're driving or turn up. Nothing worse than arriving at your destination in your Ferrari to find four more in the VIP parking area.
Just a bit fun.

Hi Juno,
We sound like very similar people. I love the R34 it's an awesome shape and I can imagine the performance is wild, It brings back many experiences from years ago. Wind back the clock a bit further and I remember the twin turbo Supras.
Our tastes evolve but finding fun in cheaper cars or bikes makes us true petrolheads, but it's great to drive the higher end cars for the pure occasion.u
Cheers, GoM

I've been keeping an eye out wanting to buy a 2006 / 2007 Gallardo Spyder, preferably manual. I'm wanting to buy one privately to save some money. As it appears most people are part exchanging them in as they don't want to bother with the hassle of selling privately, plus the fact most buyers want a warranty and finance. Does anyone know of any dealers who are open to trading a part exchange Gallardo straight on to a private buyer? So no warranty etc. Or does is the best thing to do is to wait for the right car to come up for sale in the classifieds? I went to buy one at auction last week, it had done higher miles than average plus had a few issues and it made £18,000 more than trade price which I was surprised at. Any advice on the best ways to find one would be much appreciated
