I get the whole soul and character thing and its nice to have a car that excites but those that don't see that a 650s ticks those boxes need to drive it more.
I drove several 12C's and 650S until I got what the car offered in abundance and its certainly a car that grows on you the more you drive it. Sometimes you have to look beyond the initial wow and noise to discover the depths of the car.
I think the 458 and Huracan put it all out there up front unlike the classier McLaren who doesn't invite you in for a "coffee" on the first date
If I wanted something classy I wouldn't buy any of the above. Just saying.I drove several 12C's and 650S until I got what the car offered in abundance and its certainly a car that grows on you the more you drive it. The only marque that could ever now tempt me away from Ferrari is Lamborghini....and I would have to go with yellow or green! Awesome car OP. Many congrats.

If I don't like the look of the car I wouldn't buy it no matter how well it drove or how fast it was. For me personally I'm with you, although they're building some very impressive cars I just can't get excited about any of the McLaren line-up at the moment. I'm not ruling them out for the future but for the time being, I'll take something Italian please.
And it is for this reason that McLaren residuals are a bit crap....RamboLambo said:

I've often been first to defend you during the many scathing posts RL, but this is a silly post. Personally I've done hundreds of miles in 650S and Huracan and if it were my £££££ going on the line, I would go Huracan. I think the 650S is a staggeringly good car, really is, and it does excite and thrill, with bags of character. But I just felt that the Huracan had more. I prefer the sound of the V10 and the looks of the Huracan.
It's all about personal choice - someone else liking a different car doesn't make your choice wrong.

I agree the Lambo has more character, no doubt about that but its a case of where you draw the line and your personal preference.Personally I've done hundreds of miles in 650S and Huracan and if it were my £££££ going on the line, I would go Huracan. I couldn't go anywhere in the Red Performante ET without causing a stir. After a while it became a little tiring but that's not to say I didn't enjoy it some of the time.
I still think the 650S is technically the better car and superior product.
If Lamborghini had done a lightweight special Huracan spider with a hard top I would of given it consideration for sure

For Christ's sake gents, this guy has just picked up his new Lamborghini, a day that most of us can only dream of. Let's not turn this into another "top 10 reasons why you should buy a McLaren - number seven will shock you" thread. There's a plethora of threads already running for that!
Back on topic - absolutely stunning car, in the right colour. Enjoy in rude health, although I'm sure you don't need me or anyone else to tell you that!

I always thought I would go Verde Mantis if I got a Huracan but that yellow looks gorgeous!

ive said it a thousand times, i'll say it again, the V10 in the back of the gallardo/huracan is one of the all time greatest engines ever..... worth buying one just for the engine....
one thing i noticed is some colours, esp citrus, bring out lines and curves you dont realise are there on the huracan.... check from bonnet to front wheel arch.....

I really want one but the few i have sat in, including the Spyder, seem to have a high seat position. In the coupe my head was very close to the roof and the spyder i felt i was looking at the top frame of the screen. I'm 6'3... are there different seat options that lower the position ?

I'm amazed you felt this. I am 6'2 and hate feeling cramped or high in cars, and in the Huracan I have loads and loads of head room. Many cars I would be hitting the ceiling if I wore my crash helmet, but not even close in the Huracan.I don't know about seat adjustment, but mine has full electric adjustable so maybe they are lower than fixed due to different mechanism?
