Hi,

Has anyone owned both?

Both look great and a real event. Can anyone give their thoughts on what each is like to own? Will be used for the odd track day and weekend drives.

Also if anyone knows a good one please let me know.

Thanks

Lee

Get a test drive in both. I know that sounds like a cop out but folks on here are very sensitive about their SL1 cars and they are favoured the most on Pistonheads. As an SL2 owner, who has driven the SL1.. the SL2 is by far the better car in every aspect except noise.

If it was my money, I would be going to the SL2 all day long but you can't go far wrong with either.

Ignore anyone who tells you to get a 12c instead, they're pretty souless and uninspiring in comparison.

Can't really disagree with Craigwww, the SL2 is improved in a lot of areas, power, gearbox, (subjectively) looks, usability.

But then it's a newer car so Lamborghini aren't doing their job if it wasn't improved.

The SL1 is still the more collectible, but if that doesn't matter go for an SL2.

Thanks both,

Im now leaning towards the SL2.

I was considering SL1 at Pangbourne but Lamborghini can only offer an aftermarket warranty unfortunately.

Anyone here at Brands at the weekend for Auto Italia?

I've got an orange manual SL1.

It's a proper car. SL2 just a rebadged LP560 with an Ecu tweak.

You couldn't be further from the truth in my case I'm afraid. I've got a few cars and would happily buy an SL2 in addition to my SL1 if I felt it was anywhere near as special. Frankly why not just buy an LP560?
I went to Sant'Agata for the preview of the SL2 before it was launched and spent a lot of time talking to the factory engineers. It is a nice car but in my view simply not as special.

Wouldn't have bought a Lambo unless Superleggera or Performante were available,Looked at Gen1 but felt it was a bit unfinished compared to Gen2's Soz getmecoat

Have looked at a few cars but nothing that is perfect for me. I even took a deposit in my pocket to Auto Italia just incase!

Probably the wrong time of year to buy, hopefully there will be some more cars coming onto the market in Sept/Oct.
