He wants to replace his car I would guess, because he spoiled it by putting an ironing board on the back.

Back on topic, I have a LHD manual SL gen 1. No worries at all with LHD in UK in my experience.
i've been a passenger in one of your lhd cars and tbh had plenty of worries

Get a room you two! Who would be the giver?

So AndrewD whispering sweet nothings in your ear then? Good on you for not falling for it.

Anyway back on topic we are putting the deposit down on the car on Wednesday. They weren't open on Christmas eve.

Happy days!

Not prepared to say at the moment. All will be revelead in the next week or so.

Suffice to say that if this deal does come off I will be one happy chap! It's been a dream car of mine for a while now.

Replies here have been pretty helpful actually... When we were looking at GT3 RS we looked at 2 x that were SoR with owner expectations not aligning with reality of what car is worth. (If JZM sold one recently with 19k miles for approx £128k then your car with 29k miles is not worth £139k...).

Because this MK1 SL is also SoR I was wondering if it was a similar issue but had only LHD to compare to. Comments herein, along with a bit more "research" (aka youtube videos) have provided required reassurance that we are going in for SL and not GT3RS + a bit of higher cost for RHD is reasonable.

Not done and dusted yet....we were a bit stymied in progress due to holidays etc as we need Turbo to go first. That is on track for start of Jan so hopefully in next 2-3 weeks we will be taking ownership and will be galavanting across the countryside for the 1 x afternoon it takes us to get from dealership to garage where it will stay, to husband's consternation, till the weather turns.

.....and now not happening. Was SoR via main dealer. All set up to be done after holidays. The owner has just had some "sleepless nights" and decided to keep it. We will probably wait a bit before abandoning all hope in case the original impetus for the sale (wife wanting bigger house or something of that ilk) comes back around but it may be that this is the end unless we go LHD after all.

Also keeping an eye out for Mk1 superleggera's. Happy to go LHD. Only grey one that seems to be forsale is the one at Motorhub which im guessing I shouldnt even consider viewing.

That's a nice looking car, but it's a hell of a premium over a regular 570; for essentially a bigger rear wing, different deck lid & two tone interior!

As you say it's great looking car and yup, that is one serious premium - around £60K. I do like the 2 tone interior - it would go really well with my 570-4 SL.

Is it me or is the car red and the interior black/orange? If it is that's an interesting colour combo.
