Looking Good For Huracan Performante,The New Benchmark

Hey Juno, don't worry too much about the Wooshy badge fanboys losing their collective sense of humour. I remember all the claims about the P1, multiple visits to the Nurburgring, Ron Dennis and his 10 second a lap faster than anything else at Dunsford etc. They simply couldn't deliver and Porsche took the crown.
Lambo seem to have done it properly and will present the video evidence on the 23rd to prove it, good for them. It would appear that ALA is a genuine advance forward, plus the changes they have made to the suspension, gearbox, tyres and engine response, like they did to the Superleggera. Personally I am looking forward to seeing it at Geneva and driving around in my bog standard Huracan basking in the reflected glory of the Performante.
I can't begin to imagine how exciting it must be to have one on order. Please keep us updated and the very best of luck with it. Who needs a graphite cage and piped in engine sounds to make life thrilling....

What do you know about aero or driving cars with aero ?
Merely a little bit I suppose. Sufficient however to realise unless the performante produces a whole heap more downforce than any other road car (which it won't especially given it's ride height as seen from the test car at the 'ring), the downforce won't be enough to make a substantial difference given the 1500+kg weight of the car (and that's without a driver). And also enough to realise if it produces that much downforce to make the kind of performance gain talked about, it'll have to be very stiffly sprung and be a pretty awful road car. Still, hardly a surprise, a lot of people it seems are very good at self justifying whatever they buy and believing any amount of marketing hype no matter how far fetched from the manufacturer is included. Enjoy your car when it arrives.

In all seriousness I only buy cars that float my boat and I'm quite eclectic and not led by any form of hype etc. I had already ordered the Perfa before I had any idea of the ring time, just because I liked the look and emotion that the V10 delivers.
So its a quick ring car which is great and I can assure you its not compromised too much on the road, however it will be funny when they finally post the time
I think the car will be nearer to 1400 than 1500kgs ?

It's a Question? (What do you know about aero or driving cars with aero ?) asking for a reply and casts no aspersions on what he may or may not have driven or what he may or may not know, so I don't see how I have jumped from anywhere to anywhere!
Also it is he that said "Juno has become the new rambo with 'active aero'" So I think the poor form lies elsewhere?
Poor Form ?. I resemble that comment Also it is he that said "Juno has become the new rambo with 'active aero'" So I think the poor form lies elsewhere?

You should take that as a compliment of the highest degree

I'm still waiting for some confirmation of these figures though, I've heard too many superlatives before to take this stuff at face value.
If you turn out to be right, I may be running back to Lambo myself!

Found this one dated well before PH, oooops OMG I am going to get pasted
Those leaked photos from Portugal look great.
The only styling I didn't like about the standard Huracan was the high engine lid (either slatted or glass) that always seemed to be sitting on top of the car. From the photos it looks like a lower more aggressive engine lid on the Performante so the overall design now looks very resolved, the Huracan has lovely proportion anyway and no bad angles, much better than a 650S for example.
Very excited to see the launch in Geneva and hope those with orders don't have to wait too long for theirs.

That's a racecar for the road. Bloody ridiculous thing and it costs about £2M. Hardly a level playing field. There's too much of a grey area involved in what constitutes a road car these days.
Fair point Don't think it has any relevance for enjoyment of a road car anyway - they are all too fast - therefore I would buy a 812 instead of tthe performante any day to get a high revving Ferrari v12

SCG 003S has barely set foot on a track. They have released a "target number" (~6:30) three days before the HP "real number" (~6.52) is released, to try and deliver a spoiler. Suspect it will be a repeat of the P1 <7min "target number" a few years ago. Lots of posturing, but ultimately falling short or fudging it (i.e. race spec).
Hooray for swan neck wings.
Can anyone explain how their new cool looking carbon actually has strength? It looks like it'd be far far worse than woven type composites? Essentially it's a load of "chips" suspended in resin with no real structure. Looks very nice but I just can't understand how it's working.
