I have a list of prices from 7 places in the South East to PPF a Performante.

Can PM it to you if you want.....
May I ask for the list by PM also please. I have some pricing from North West area for an XPEL product, which seems you can pick which bits you want quite specifically.

Sent to both of you.

I am going with Suntek Ultra, thinner so not as obvious round the edges and glossier finish.

Not as hard wearing though.

Whats everyone doing about Paint Protection Film ? Topaz want £6000 for a full body and £2,500 for front and side sills and a £1000 for a new detail.
Seems a bit rich to me and a case of getting fleeced on some film that probably cost £50 pm

Dub Customs are doing my car next week.
Is it possible to post it publicly. Just call them company A, B, C, etc. Or average out the 7 quotes and post the average. Or the lowest and highest quotes. Round up or down the figures if needed to disguise the quotes.

I had Topaz do mine (a Spyder) which cost around £5k as I recall. Craig @ Pangbourne organised it, as being a regular place that he refers people to. I had a tiny problem but it was fixed with no drama and came with a 5 year guarantee. All round, I thought they did a great job. And no, I'm not on commission!

You can do a full vinyl wrap (like Yiannimize) for £2-5k.

That could work out half the price of a £4-7k PPF wrap, a full paintwork detail is not always needed, and a wrap provides good (if not better) stonechip protection.

I popped into this thread to look at Performante photos but you're discussing one of my favorite topics so I'll suggest you look at Ceramic coatings. I got my 911, and my wife's Macan, paint corrected & ceramic coated at Ceramic Pro Northwest, it cost substantially less than some of the pricing you guys are mentioning and they are perfectionists.

The prices for complete PPF coverage ranged from £3,500 - £6,250. Topaz are on of the most expensive.

Ceramic coating gives about a 1-2 micron layer of protection. It's hard wearing but won't stop or protect you from stones or anything substantial.

My old gallardo had PPF on the front of the car and ceramic coating on the rest.

^ Thanks.

Yes, ceramic coatings are just a posh wax. They do not stop stonechips.

I just let the main dealer organise it through Topaz before delivery. It's expensive for a bit of film but it's 1% of the value of the car and it's hassle/risk free.

If its a brand new car do you have it paint corrected and detailed first ?
as that's another £1,000 on top of the £6,000 they want for the PPF.

Sounds like money for old rope if you ask me. I've never been a fan of PPF in the past but appreciate the film has moved on but whats the point of buffing it up and then putting a film over the top that doesn't let the super duper shine show through like the paintwork on an unprotected car

I’m too OCD to allow someone else to remove all the panels and then hope they put it back together again properly.

I tried to watch Yanni what’s his name’s new show on Dave and just winced watching them pull bits off. It’s terrifying for my disposition.

I’d rather live with some chips and then get them repaired on resale/ when they get too bad. Wrapping your car in a giant condom just doesn’t work for me.

I'm just doing the front end (2.5k), no paint correction. It's more about avoiding stone chips and keeping the paint original. I have other cars which have already had a front end respray and consequently I don't bother with the film.

Must admit I'm leaning towards that myself. £7,000 fro a detail and full PPF seems mad to me. Because of the angle of the bonnet and being low it definitely needs protection as do probably the side sills but its unusual to pick up marks on the doors, roof, rear end etc

You can get a full bumper respray for that money, from a good indy. Twice.

Hi all,

Who here has ordered a Performante? I am deliberating about ordering magentic ride option. From what I understand this is fixed to the driving modes, so unfortunately you cant set soft suspension settings and Corsa mode. Does anyone drive on Corsa mode on the road though?

And what colours and specs have you chosen?

Thanks.

Do you mind sharing when you expect delivery of your new car, and does anyone have any insight as to when the first cars will be delivered? I was hoping to get an early car and drive it for 9-12 months. Getting visibility of pipeline is quite difficult as all the dealers know each other as its a small market. Any insight most appreciated.

I'm just putting my spec together.

on the options list it has a solid black circle for Interior "Sportivo" unicolor with Alcantara® can someone please confirm if it is FOC for performante. For the other models the circle is not blacked out and there is a price of 1,310.00

From my understanding a black circle indicates it is included at no extra charge? If not, which is the no cost option?

Thanks

Unicolour Alcantara is standard on Performante. Bi Colour is a cost addition,. Well at least in the hardcore proper bucket seats. Can't comment for the softy "Comfort" seats laugh

And what are you going to do about the bonnet and side skirts?

As mentioned above, mine was a Topaz PPF. But I didn't have a paint correction job. The reason for this was that I had a matt PPF put over the bodywork which has given it a really outstanding satin kind of look to the car, something that I've not seen before. I had considered getting matt paint (about £10k), but then what do you do about PPF, which costs another £5k? Instead, I've killed 2 birds with one stone, more or less, getting the satin / matt look and PPF in one go - and saving £10k plus future aggro and disappointment when looking at the pebbledashing.

Sounds a better way of doing it than paying the expensive premium for the matt type finish which may go out of fashion.
What is the original colour ?
I'm not a big fan of the matt finishes personally but at least come resale on yours people have the option.
Finally taking the plunge into PPF for the 1st time and have booked a full detail, PPF and ceramic coating all over inc wheels/brake calipers. Expensive but hopefully the car will be pristine and stay that way
