And what are you going to do about the bonnet and side skirts?

As mentioned above, mine was a Topaz PPF. But I didn't have a paint correction job. The reason for this was that I had a matt PPF put over the bodywork which has given it a really outstanding satin kind of look to the car, something that I've not seen before. I had considered getting matt paint (about £10k), but then what do you do about PPF, which costs another £5k? Instead, I've killed 2 birds with one stone, more or less, getting the satin / matt look and PPF in one go - and saving £10k plus future aggro and disappointment when looking at the pebbledashing.
Sounds a better way of doing it than paying the expensive premium for the matt type finish which may go out of fashion.
What is the original colour ?
I'm not a big fan of the matt finishes personally but at least come resale on yours people have the option.
Finally taking the plunge into PPF for the 1st time and have booked a full detail, PPF and ceramic coating all over inc wheels/brake calipers. Expensive but hopefully the car will be pristine and stay that way
Grigio Lynx - or metallic grey if you prefer. And now...

Cool, very stealthy and can see why a satin finish works

Someone posted this on LP a few days ago:

So, I took delivery of my 2018 HP a couple of weeks ago (Balloon White). It has rained nonstop for 2 weeks so I’ve only driven it 2 times. One of those times was home from the dealer and then once to the body shop to have XPEL stealth wrap and ceramic coat. Well, I just got a call from Lambo explaining that my car was hand painted from the factory and that while they were wrapping it at XPEL they had to remove the film because they found spots that looked like dirt or debris that was under the wrap. During the removal process apparently the paint started lifting. Lambo stated this was common(because of the hand painting) and have agreed to remedy the situation. I’m obviously grateful for this but it pisses me off to no end that I’m now going to be without my car for weeks to a month when I’ve got track days and events scheduled in the coming weeks. Have any of you guys experienced anything like this with your new Lambo’s?

Issue is freshness of paints.... Modern paints need several months to properly cure.... Read any detailing thread about new car prep..... A fresh from the factory paint job won't stand PPF removal

Surely as long as the paint has been baked off properly, allowing a couple of weeks is enough before ppf? Several months sounds somewhat overkill I'd have thought.

Modern, water-based paints today don't need long to cure or gas off. Cars should be ready to wrap with PPF by the time they hit the dealer.

Sounds like the PPF company did not prep properly the underlying paintwork and ensure it was 100% contaminant-free. The PPF installer made a mess.

"Brave" lol. Yeah I can remember thinking the same way when I had the Rosso Mars Gallardo Performante Spyder.
Was going to look at a MP4 12C and 458 at the time until I spotted the Gallardo in red and was knocked off my feet by it. Thought it would look so wrong being a Ferrari colour but TBH it was stunning and just so different to the usual lambo colours.
Anyway I think it looks even better on the Huracan when you see the whole thing with gloss black style pack, bronze narvi's and of course the Italian flag.
Like to be different and hopefully not too many more in red knocking around. 2 week wait now for PPF and a few other things to get sorted but not in a hurry TBH as mega busy this month and then on hols.

Keeping the 650S spider for the summer and until the Huracan Performante Spyder arrives in Q4 but binned the 570S a while back as wasn't really using it enough to justify the depreciation. Enjoyed the car for 2,000 miles but tended to favour taking the 650S spider with the roof down out too much.
Got me a few more brownie points with the McLaren dealer though which was kind of the plan from the start to get an LT version anyway

I'm 200 miles and about 20 hours in to Performante ownership. I bought an unregistered car so it's not my spec but I'm impatient and didn't want to wait.

Thoughts on some of the options....

Verde mantis - looks great while it's clean. Let's see what it looks like in a couple of weeks. It certainly gets a lot of attention.
Comfort seats - I know it's seriously divisive. I'm glad I have them for daily usability but the seating position is too high (I'm 5ft 11, short legs, long torso).
LDS - very effective but weird as hell. Jury still out.
Mag dampers - definitely worthwhile and very well judged in the different driving modes.
Lift - despite a 4x4 ride height that front splitter is very low. You want this if you live... anywhere.

Know the car from the local lambo dealer, Lucky you to be in the right place at the right time to pick up a cancelled order. Looks fantastic in Verde Mantis original purchaser will be kicking themselves. Agree with your comments on both seats and LDS hence why I never optioned them

Mine in prep at Bristol, apologies for the lift being up

Little bit envious of your bronze wheels. If I were speccing the car I would definitely have had them. Somehow they seem to work with every colour.

Its an easy fix for you for about £300 to be resprayed. The black works with the green and black detailing but its a shame it hides the detail of the beautiful wheel design.
Personally I'm just not a black wheel fan on any car. A titanium grey wheel would be better but then that doesn't match the plenums

I'm thinking of Verde Mantis with bronze wheels again on the spyder. The green really pops and stands out more than the red but I never have 2 cars the same colour back to back

I had my wheels powder coated from black to bronze, think it was £700 plus vat. Worth every penny I think. Got the dealer to sort it out, didn't fancy the idea of having all 4 wheels of the car at once.

I did wonder when I saw the first picture you posted. Most Yogi bears are black but with the orange car the bronze really works well and brings the wheel to life.
Think I've only seen one other with the Bronze on that wheel style. Good decision

Thanks. I may well do the same but I'm going to live with the car for a bit first and see if it's a keeper.

May I ask if this is your usual approach, or something more specific to the Performante and/or this car?
