Dear All

I’m looking for a little help with track day noise limits.

I have a std. 2013 LP560 that makes 106db in normal mode at 6k revs, measured at 4’ by Marshall at Goodwood.

Ideally I’d like to get below 100db to comply with more tracks, but below 105 static would be a good start.

I don’t want to buy a replacement exhaust so I’m looking at additional silencers to fit onto the tailpipes.

Can anyone tell me, when the valves open, do they open on all 4 pipes, or just 2 ? Inner or outer ?

It’s a really tight fit (if at all possible) to get 4 additional silencers on as they’re each 4” diameter, so if only the outers opened up I could try that first.

Any info or trackday noise advice appreciated.

Thanks

At 6000rpm the valves are open, so I dont think you can get away with just 2 silencers.
Keep us posted, as I was wondering what it would take to quieten it down...

I thought the OP wanted to further quieten the quiet ones. There's no way a tail-piece muffler is going to do the work of a big box on the loud pair...

It looks like it’s the outers that are valved on the std system so I’m going to try one on each outer first to see how that goes. It appears that there isn’t much expertise out there for this so it will be a bit of trial and error.

Now to get those pesky tips off !! Any ideas ? I’m guessing rear bumper off ......
