You still got your green mistress?

ZERO clutch wear? Really?

IF you do get one just wait till you start it up when it's cold. Very loud, sounds awesome biggrin
oh yes, she;s a keeper. i live for the cold start up..... if only all start ups were like that!!

last snatch reading showed 0mm wear, 18.4mm was the reference closed position, 18.4 the measured smile
need to try harder lol!

My 997.1 Turbo is manual so I can always turn to this if I feel the need for the third pedal smile

I haven’t driven a manual Gallardo and there doesn’t appear to be many manual for sale? I wouldn’t like to go for a car older than 2006 for reasons mentioned. Prindiville have manual 2006 but it has 46k miles. Too high?

How about this one ? Seems to have been around for a while.

This one looks nice and a manual but tad too loud for me:

I am planning to see the grey LP car this weekend.

I sometimes think it's time to sell the pre-LP spyder. And then I start it up and drive it again. Had mine about 4 years. Asking prices suggest I've made a few k which probably means in real market terms I've only lost a couple. But that's really not a consideration, it's about the experience.

For sale by Motorhub so may have an ‘interesting’ history.

Certainly wouldn't pay 75+ for an 04 manual... Hardest thing is finding them, adverts are awful and you only know for sure from interior pics

Important read on date of build/my

Absolute Stunner! Love that colour green and I am not generally a fan of green. Is that an SL2? Can’t see the Superleggera decal down the side on the photo, but has spoiler and looks like the SL front scoops. Also seems to be lacking some exterior carbon fibre bits and bobs, but again looks like Alcantara interior...??

That’s a lovely looking car. I am not a fan of loud yellow but that green is perfect.

It looks like the grey SL has a dubious past so will give that a miss! Thanks for the PM with the details.

Are the SL cars generally with harsher ride? They seem to be light weight race spec? How are they around town compared to the standard LP? Sorry for all the questions.

The LP560 e-gear is far and away a better car, in terms of looks and useability around town, the manual pre LP is awful in traffic,

My main bit of advice would be to ensure you get a main dealer PPI with clutch wear report (if e-gear) before you complete any purchase, I can almost guarantee the dealer will find at least double the inspection cost in repairs required, relying on an aftermarket warranty won’t cover certain expensive repair bills (front Brakes and discs on my
lp560 were a shade over £1400 on the last service and mine had had a clutch fitted at under 10,000 miles before I bought it and that’s not a cheap job.

Good luck, whichever one you buy, you won’t be disappointed.

don't confuse the 2007/8 stripped-out noisy superleggera with the later 570sl, which was a stripes and ecu tweak job
i've never noticed much of a difference in ride across various models, but the 2007/8 superleggera appears "busier" with lots of road related noise

You can get an andrew battleship grey, manual LP550-2 from Pangbourne, but you'll need to significantly up your budget.

Yep, as Andrew says. Gen1 SL has a firmer (sportier) ride than the standard pre-LP. Definitely more jiggly on a bad road surface but not terrible.

Gen1 SL has near enough straight through pipes which is mental when the valves are open, especially with less sound deadening.

I think LP570 SL uses same suspension as the LP560 and same exhaust?

The SL2 is significantly more different than just a remap and a couple of decals. Just for example:

Kerb Weight of 1520kgs vs 1590kgs
Forged AlloyWheels with Titanium Wheel Nuts
Polycarbonate Side Windows, Rear Window and Transparent Engine Cover
Carbon Fibre Sills, Engine Cover, Rear Spoiler, Rear Diffuser, Door Mirrors, Door Cards and Transmission Tunnel (CF extension packs to include Steering Wheel and surround for the Gear Selection / Driving Mode control surround, central instrument Binnacle and Engine Bay available.)
Carbon Fibre Backed Racing Seats
Alcantara Interior
Different Standard Exhaust
Different Engine Management Set Up
Different Suspension Components and set up, including stiffer bushes all round (about 70% Set Up of the ST Race Car)

I have probably missed a few things, but that is quite a comprehensive summary.

Re the grey SL on ebay (and also Pistonheads):

"How about this one ? Seems to have been around for a while.
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2... "

An exactly similar 2007 grey SL is listed on Autotrader at Highline Performance, Bedford. Are Motorhub in West Yorkshire and Highline associated companies or has this one now moved on?

Both cars are listed as RHD UK cars, both have harness belts & 'roll cage', full/extra interior carbon trim (to steering wheel, handbrake handle, dashboard dial surround, etc), gloss black instead of the standard grey coloured wheels, orange instead of white (for UK) side repeaters to the front bumper, the £6k Alpine sound system/sat nav., the rear camera isn't mounted under the rear wing as per standard high rear wing fit. The discoloured grille around the rear exhausts, especially to the passenger side looks very similar.

The Motorhub advert says Autolign tested, MOT due 03/03/18, 28,000 miles, £89,989. Reg: V7 GLM.
The Highline advert says Autolign tested (but Autotrader highlights it's Cat D status), 29,000 miles. MOT (from MOT history) 29,093 miles on 21/04/18 against the reg V7 GLM, £99,989

Surely this is the same car?

Thanks David, the grey SL does seem to be too good to be true.

There are two manual LP cars but both are above my budget unless I sell my 911 Turbo.

One of the traders with Ferraris and Lambos mentioned that I would be better off with F430. Apparently the F430 will appreciate and Gallardo will depreciate, any truth to this? Anyone owned both?
