The previous owner had no idea that driving the car in auto mode all the time and reversing up a hill is not good for the clutch! I've had an Maserati McShift before this one and i know how to drive them.He was always reversing the car in the garage and i do the other way around!
I've done around 2.5k miles on the car and the wear in this time was 0.2mm.The reading of the clutch was 5.6mm and they told me that lambo recommend to change the clutch at 5.6mm wear.
Since the egear is actually a manual without the clutch pedal, as opposed to a traditional automatic, I have never really understood why there even is an Auto mode...but there you go.

I think this is the first time I've read about a LP G that needed a new clutch !

what did you do to get through a clutch in 14k miles ?!
Quite common.

My LP560-4 egear had 10800 miles on the clock when I bought it and it had a new clutch fitted by the previous owner when it had less than 10,000 on the clock.

It all depends on where it has been driven and how’s it’s been driven, it’s easy to ruin a clutch quickly if you don’t know how to use it properly.

A Gallardo with an egear box in London traffic would see a clutch replacement required very, very quickly.

There's a lot of people out there that just go into dealers and coming out with a lambo and know nothing about how to drive them.Of course dealers doesn't mention anything about thatsmile

confused

Auto mode for people who don't want to control which gear the car is in.
Manual mode for people who do.

Looks like the price reduction to 92990 was too tempting for someone who has snapped up the motor I was keen on come December.

Back to the drawing board for me.

Test drive booked this Saturday in a LP560-4 in verde eithica apparently 1 of only 4 coupes in the UK in this colour. How true that is I'm unsure.

I'll let you know how I get on. Planning to move on this ASAP if suitable/enjoy the car.

This is correct. The clutch also gives off quite an aroma while sitting in London traffic, which is another reason for people to stare. Stuck in traffic for 45 mins through Brixton in an E-Gear is far from ideal !

The point is that whilst there is an Auto option, if you do drive it in Auto mode, you will lunch the clutch far more quickly than driving it with the paddles as if it were a manual which is the way I believe the eGear was originally intended to be used.

Best colour, obviously

Yes, a very rare colour on the gallardo... Early pre lp cars were yellow and black mainly, more colours after my06 update, most lp cars were black or white

A rare colour for a good reason? Limited numbers or a bad reason? No one likes it?

I'm not massively hung up on resale etc but don't want to be stuck with a colour no one would want in 3-4years.

All the rage now.... So many huracans in Verdi....

Think at the time white was the new everything and people just went bland... Never heard anyone not like the colour, it does get attention, so you can't be bashful

I don't think it would cause any issue at all for resale, in actual fact, as 70proof correctly point out ,I think it will be a positive thing for resale if anything as Verde is in, it's a great Lamborghini colour.

I think any Citrus colour is great for a Lambo. I have Giallo Midas (Pearl Yellow) and it zings! Black, White and Grey are so bland and understated for these cars and do a lot to hide the lines too. Just my opinion.

Bland? In White? Not at all. Just look at this stunning 50th in Bianco Opulis. This is not a biased opinion. Nope, not all smile

Giallos Midas- good choice! This picture shows off the colour when you look at the front wing.

It’s upside down for some reason, please use screen lock and turn your phone upside down to appreciate it haha.

You will next week when I post pics if goes to plan on Saturday ;-) Test drive booked, finance all approved, just to sign my life away on Saturday.

Since this topic was briefly taken over by how to drive the eGear can I confirm - round town etc am I best using eGear and paddling myself? What about motorway driving? auto is ok? And corsa for lazy but pushing the car on motorways etc?
