I read up on the legislation which states that the front plate needs to be mounted vertically "where practicable". Given the lack of a remotely suitable vertical surface at the front of the vehicle I figured it wouldn't be "practicable" to mount the plate vertically so it's attached horizontally on the shelf above the ALA vents. The dealership told me that many of their customers don't bother with a front plate, but most that do bother with one mount it horizontally like I have.
Yes, that’s exactly how I’ve mounted mine, so far no probs.

Beautiful car.

Currently have an LP560-4 spyder and looking for the next step up, Performante or Aventador. Performante is probably the better real world car of the two with the gearbox, physical size etc. but never owned a V12 and that box needs ticking too smile

Strongly recommend you drive a perf, my pal that took my white car also upgraded from the same as yours and he said the it's a night and day difference.

I had an SV roadster last year as a stop gap between my perf coupe and Spyder arriving for the same reason to box tick and I hated it, looked the part, sounded the part, doors were cool but it was no drivers car and anything more than an hour seat time and I was tired as it was such hard work.

The perf on the other hand I cannot get enough of - on my third as they are that good smile

I get the feeling some people are talking Gallardo Performante, and others Huracan Performante.... very different cars....

Lovely car OP. Sounds like you got the perfect deal. Always the icing on the cake.

Enjoy driving it, as I am sure you will.

What have you lot done front number plate wise?

On previous cars i've done all sorts, been without, odd sized, stuck on etc...

This car hasn't had the bracket fitted and I'm looking for options for a short(ish) plate on the front...
Congratulations, the car looks awesome.

I have left the plate off the front of mine and I haven’t had any issues with the police so far, it looks so much better without it.

Maybe the ignorance of a new Supercar owner here but I’ve read similar comments about being in my 3rd or 2nd of the exact same car and wonder why people do this? Is it to keep it in warranty?

and they were happy to take it to Lamborghini London to do a mileage verification for me, as I heard huracans are very easy to clock!
Out of interest, where did you hear this?

I know that actually, they're pretty much impossible as someone tried to clock theirs and Lambo knew exactly when it was done and what the real mileage was straight away.

That cost him A LOT of money to get back in their good books with regards to warranty etc.

My story differs slightly,

I ordered the Spyder back in late 2017, I popped in the showroom around march 18 (when coupes were still fetching a premium) and they had a stock car cancelled order which I Purchased as a stop gap. It seemed to make sense at the time as i could have a few months free motoring so went ahead with the buy and sold it to another friend a couple of months later for the same money, this was before we had the best summer in years hence the SV purchase in between to tide me over - That wasn't a painless disposal like the Perf coupe but that's another story.

Anyway the Spyder turned up in September with comfort seats that I absolutely hated but lived with until a Rosso Mars car came up recently with the bucket seats, the spec and deal was right so I went for that and moved mine on.

It's very easy to do in the usual way in the main ECU, but there are also mileage checks in the gearbox and a couple of other places, so yes Lamborghini can plug in and tell almost right away, but the average punter from a non-Lambo dealer, or privately may get stung by this at least until its next service when they will find out.

Hence me having mine checked by Lamborghini before completing the sale.

I know of two different people who bought Huracans then found mileage mis-match later on and Lamborghini will then void the warranty.

I see, it sounds like you’ve had some fun experiences along the way then as well!

Ah, yeh I understand, easy to clock but only for appearance sake.

Awesome car by the way! Night and day compared to the standard Huracan.

I’ve had my Spyder for a couple of months now and it is amazing! Can’t get enough of the noise and it has generated huge interest wherever I go.

On some of the points raised in the thread:

- Comfort seats work for me - helps my back which I struggle with
- Front plates - seems a shame to spoil the front end so taking my chances
- Steering - I went with the fancy steering, it feels ok to me but I don’t think its needed
- Compared to Standard Huracan - drove back to back at Millbrook and it was like night and day, totally different proposition
- Numbers of cars - There are two Perfs I see regularly around Essex, a green coupe and a black coupe. No other spyders seen yet!

Bluewater. I've taken my ones there on occasion. Found a safe place to park too.

You've sensibly parked it at the far end of the car park too by the looks of it.
