Hi guys

Hope everyone is safe and well.

After some help looking at a Lp560 at Tunbridge Wells but not 100% on the car. But there isn’t much out there unless you want a Performante or Superleggera defo not a Spyder and not white.

Does anyone know what sort of cost extended warranties would be can you do that.

I have had a 996 gt2 for 10 years so wondering what the difference will be like. Fancy a change and all ways loved the shape and sound of the v10.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks you

Paul

Lamborghini will sell you one as long as the car has remained in the system and has met the service schedules and has any rectification work done beforehand, and relieve you of about £5k.

Aftermarket range from about £1200 to £2200 depending on what level of cover you want.

It’s worth speaking to some of the Indys. Much of their stuff doesn’t make it to websites etc before it’s sold. VVS is close to Tunbridge. Worth a chat with them to see what they have.

Having recently sold a coupe, I’d definitely go spider next, the noise !!! ( you can leave the roof up and drop the rear window).

And that’s the bit that will get you. Whatever you lose in dynamic interaction from the GT2 (not as much as many will lead you to believe), your senses will be overdosed. The very best thing to do is to drive one ( or several). I know, tricky right now, but all the doubts and worries will be put into place.

Buy the right car and you’ll have an amazing experience.

This. That V10 is a whole new experience when you have no roof. A1 Hatfield tunnel, drop a gear, foot down and prepare for a sensory overload smile

Thanks for the replies.

How many services should a 2012 plate car realistically have had given 9746 miles.

Is one ever year to much to expect.

I have had a look a vvs and I really want a low mileage late coupe which they don’t have so probably give them a call when the world gets back to normality.

Thank you.

Whilst the number of (the right) services is a factor, I’d be looking at the gaps between services & MOTs and checking the mileage. A regularly driven car with an even spread between maintenance is fine as long as those gaps aren’t huge. 18 months is ok in my book, 2 years is pushing it.

A Lambo engine is no different to most other engines, regular good quality oil & filter is a positive thing.

Use the service history as a piece of evidence to help determine how well the car has been looked after.

Having said all that, a car with an immaculate history of the right service done at the right time will give you a warmer feeling than one with a random scattering of oil changes at 3 or 4 indys. The downside of this ? That car will probably attract a premium.

Andrew - re warranty

There aren’t many dealers - Grange, HR Owen, Rybrook, Sytner, Parks. Give them a call and see what they say, there was no consistency between them when I was checking.

There isn’t a link, because there is no such thing as an extended warranty from Lamborghini. Most Lambo dealerships will sell you an RAC Platinum warranty for around £1500 per year with an£10k maximum claim limit.

that was my understanding
sant'agata's extended warranty has been a work in progress for at least 13 years
thought that things might have finally moved-on

cheers

It’s moved on to the point that any used car they now sell comes with a 12 (extendable to 24) month factory warranty, as long as said vehicle fits the stipulated criteria.

The car must be 7 years old or newer & have less than 43000 miles. The previous maximum was a factory warranty upto 6 years old. This now allows a factory warranty up to 9 years old.

If it doesn’t fit that criteria, it will have a 3rd party, aftermarket warranty.

The confusion has arisen because Lamborghini originally wanted to offer the ‘Selezione’ warranty product as a standalone extendable warranty and they originally marketed it as such in some European countries. As to the reason why they didn’t follow through ? Who knows, I’ve heard a couple of versions such as insurance costs, FSA rules, but have no idea if it’s true.

What I do know is that all the competitors offer a stand-alone warranty purchase ...........
