...why is this a good idea? Why is it not free? Surely the cash you generate from paid advertisting brings in enough revenue with your 3 million hits? I am aware that Pistonheads was sold by its original creator in 2009 to a larger company, it seams now that new renevue streams need to be tapped...slippery slope in my mind...

You know PH has been charging to advertise cars for a long while now? Its nothing new, and surely if you've got a successful website you'd want to make some money from it?

...they are, one this very page i am being sold mobile phones and short term loans from top companies....Fair way of doing it, rewarding us old timers with free ads and then changing the inclusion date as time goes by.
Have sold my last 9 cars through PH classified ads and bought my last 5 cars from here so am pleased I'll still be able to make use of the ad section.
Hopefully the new search facility will make my friday afternoons at work go quicker too!!

PH classifieds is my favourite place to buy and sell cars....as well as day dreaming.
I don't know what AT did to their site but it runs so slowly for me and those ads that move with the page make using it a pain.
I'm all for improvements and progress but please keep the speed up and the surround ads sensible.

I already lose approximately 50% of my working week on the PH classifieds, making it better is only going to make matters worse
