May I make a suggestion for the new mobile site?

Can there be independent settings for page length between the desktop and mobile version?

80 posts per page is great on a normal computer, but scrolling right down to the bottom of a long thread on mobile can get tedious.
Good idea this. thumbup

Just to give everyone a quick update:

- We've done a "quick and dirty" scrape of the current site just to keep classified functionality working. We're not terribly happy with it and it'll be tweaked over the next week or so but it should carry us over to the new site.

- The new site has cleared the wireframing/UX stage. We tested that in person with a very small group of users (less than 10) representative of the type of people who'll use it. Because that's a prototype it needs someone to demonstrate in person, not least because we wanted to record the way people were using it as well as having them describe it.

- The next stage is to build that into a working prototype accessible via a URL. That's when we'll be releasing it to people taking part in the trial. There'll be the opportunity to tweak the functionality in response to the opinions of this much larger group (that's all of you).

So the short answer is that whilst there's nothing to see yet we are cracking on behind the scenes, and we have been taking into account user opinions right from the very start.

So once again I need to ask you to watch this space, but that isn't for a lack of activity on our part. Quite the opposite in fact. thumbup

Sounds like there's something wrong with your iPad.

Works for me from both my desktop and W7 mobile.
Give it another go.

Because the test site link is a bit of a beast while it's in BETA mode.

That link sends me to the desktop version, and it's got a message at the side saying:

"Service Unavailable - DNS failure

He'll want to know it's not working on iPads (and not all PCs too apparently.)
